Jesus said:
"The Kingdom of God/Heaven is within you."
He didn't say it was to be found in the empty words of
people who have read the Bible and are pretending to
be spiritual authorities on the Usenet.

Alan,
Actually there is Scriptural evidence that Jesus didn't say those
words. The statement "the kingdom of God is within you" comes from the
King James Bible at Lu 17:21,
"Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the
kingdom of God is within you." (KJV)
But if you have a KJV with marginal readings, you will see that it
even admits another possible translation:
"The kingdom of God is among you"
That is because the Greek word used there, can have two meanings:
"within" or "among", For instance, the Bible scholar, Vine, shows more
than one definition of "entos". In Vines Hebrew Dictionary it says:
"entos
Text: an adverb denoting "within," or "among,"..."
Young's Analytical Concordance to the Bible also agrees: "within" or
"among" as the possible definitions of entos.
Thus the rendering of "entos" can be either "within" or "among". In
other words, the Greek word is just not limited to the word "within",
or similar expressions.
Some other popular Bibles agree with the later interpretation. For
example:
"and no one will announce, 'Look, here it is,' or, 'There it is.' For
behold, the kingdom of God is among you." (NAB)
"nor will they say, 'Lo, here it is!' or 'There!' for behold, the
kingdom of God is in the midst of you." (RSV)
"nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or, 'There it is!' For behold,
the kingdom of God is in your midst." (NASB)
So which is it, "within" or among"? The strongest argument against
"within" as the real thought here, is the context itself.
Notice who Jesus was talking to in Lu 17:21. Vs 20 says it was the
Pharisees. They were about the last persons on earth that Jesus would
say had 'the kingdom of God' residing in them. Rather, Jesus called
them hypocrites, blind guides, serpents, offspring of vipers, and said
that they prevented the Kingdom of the Heavens from reaching men. (see
Mt 23:13,16,33) Not a very fine testimony, was it.
Thus, God's kingdom is not some mystical thing within each person, but
rather is a real GOVERNMENT that will soon remove all of man's
governments and usher in better days. (see Dan 2:44)
And Jesus taught his followers to pray for that kingdom government to
come and set things straight here. Many people today refer to that
prayer as "The Lord's Prayer". (see Mt 6:9-13)
Jesus is the king of that Kingdom government, and when he was present
as a man in the first century, the kingly representative of that
government, God's kingdom, was 'in their midst' or 'among them' at
that time. And that is the point Jesus was making to them at Luke
17:21.
Sincerely, James

===>Furthermore, "actually", there is no evidence that anyone said that.
There is not even any evidence there was a "Jesus", other than a character in
some stories written some 17-19 centuries ago. -- L.
