Was "Re: Proof that God's promises are nothing but hot air and cold

As I write this, the Tournament of Roses Parade is being pelted
with
rain--the first time in 51 years.


The parade is being held today, as per the long established rule
of
not stepping off on Sunday when that is New Year's Day. Over the years,
that
has been built up into the mythos "No Sunday--no rain", i.e.--placate God,
He keeps the sun shining whenever the parade is.


So I wonder just WHAT God is doing now, since He's certainly not
keeping Pasadena dry.

If you base facts about God, from human teachings instead of the
Bible, you can be mislead. Notice the principle stated here about
religious teachings. Ac 17:11,

"Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians,
for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the
Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." (NIV)

Yes, look it up in the Bible to see if it is true! If you go to the
Bible, you will not see anything about God stopping it from raining to
permit a parade etc. Rather, those with Bible knowledge know that many
things today happen RANDOMLY. Ec 9:11,

"I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the
swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or
wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance
happen to them all." (NIV)
