Preposterous? Of course. But how many care about TRUTH? Many seem to
believe what they "want" to be true.or whatever "feels" right. Any
rationality or evidence to support a belief does not seem to matter.

Yes, that is why the Bible says to VERIFY your religious beliefs. 1 Th
5:21,
"Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." (KJV)
Also notice Ac 17:11,
"Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians,
for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the
Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." (NIV)
Thus if a religion tries to teach you God created a Purgatory and a
Limbo place etc, ask them to show you in the Bible where they get
their information. Then you would be like the Bereans of Acts 17:11 to
see if what they "said was true".
