You will probably also need a sound editor.
There are freeware apps out there like Audiocity
(http://audacity.sourceforge.net/), but its not very powerful. I purchased a
editor called SoundMaker in 1998 that cost me $100 at the time. But sadly
this editor has been discontinued. It still works under Mac OSX Tiger
(although not as well as it would on a native non Mac OSX Macintosh).
At one time I used Macromedia's Sound Edit Pro. But I believe this has been
discontinued. I have been searching for a older version (since it's superior
to SoundMaker) but have been unabel to find it.
So these days I use a combination of SoundMaker, audacity, iTunes, SoundApp,
and Final Vinyl (for audio dubbing from the iMic). Yes I'd rather use one
app but am not aware of any, or cannot afford it.
Can any of you experts from the mac group or from the audio group reccommend
a "quality" sound Editor for Mr. Weatherly? I believe Mr. Weatherly will
not be too thrilled with freeware like Audiocity. He will probably want a
editor like Sound Edit 16/Pro which worked on both Macs and PC's.
Regarding your other questions about video. I have no clue. When I upgraded
from my old Mac last year, I lost my video capture device as it is not OSX
compatible. I do not know of any video editors, but I hear that my ibook
shipped with several basic video editors. But I have yet to use any of them,
since I lack a digital camcorder. My camcorder is analog only.
