THE PLANS OF GOD
Where we put ourselves
To Read: Psalms 10-12
To Know:
"I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven
there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was
presented before him." (Dan.7: 13)
The kingdom of God is in human hands. One insurance company advertises
itself as offering good hands for us to be in. The idea is simple: they say
they have our best interests at heart. The company did not release this
advertisement before certifying that this boast would sell policies. Since
the company is still in business we can conclude that this was one strategy
that worked. We feel safer when we know that we are in good hands.
God came as a man. He rules his world as a man. He came as one of us
in order to lay down his life for us. What more could God do to prove that
his are good hands to be in? Jesus did not come that we might follow him as
if we had the strength to do so; rather he came that we might put ourselves
in his hands.
To Answer:
1. Do we live our life with eyes wide open to see the points of
correspondence between this life and the kingdom of God?
2. Are we encouraged by the extent to which the kingdom of God has
enlarged in the world since the days of Nebuchadnezzar? Where does the
church not exist today?
3. Do we live a life of repentance, daily turning back to God by
always confiding in him our sins?
4. Saturday: Psalms 13-15
5. Sunday: Psalms 16-18
