Try the Gnostic bible. Gnosticism means salvation by knowledge. Jesus was a
Gnostic. King James threw out these gospels. They are anti-government.

Jesus tells us what he thinks of Gnostics (Nicolaitans) in Revelation.
Whatever Jesus might think of Gnostics, the passage concerning Nicolaitans
didn't refer to them. While no one knows for sure what the Nicolaitans
were, one reasonable interpretation of the word is "conquer the people" and
may refer to the seperation between "clergy" and "laity" that
developed....this is further amplified by the reference to Balaam in
associtaion with the Nicolaitans (Balaam prophesized for money)....and
remember Jesus's warning about hirelings.
This is more problematic in Baptist churches (I'm posting from a Baptist
group) now than in the past. Even just 20 years ago, most Baptist preachers
worked a secular job and preached because they felt they had to, I know two
local Baptist churches who can't attract a "pastor" because they are too
small to pay what available preacher want.

When I want to find the deeper meaning of something, I always

The New English Bible you mentioned (NEB) is not a good Bible.
It has several passages altered to appear to support abortion,
where all other translations are different.

I have no clue what the best one is.
I prefer the NASB, the Phillips, and the NIV.
As far as them being 'corrupt', they're no more corrupt than the KJV.
I had a KJV that had several verses missing.
Its sad that the KJV Only-ists worship the KJV more than God.
And someone mentioned the NWT. The NWT is the Jehovah's Witness
version, and it has been revealed that it had only 5 translators, only
one of which had any knowledge of Greek or Hebrew, and was self-taught
at that.

There are many good ones.
BTW, a key verse missing in other than KJV or NKJV is 1 Jn 5:7-8
NASB is as obtuse in English 2006 as is the KJV. If one wishes to have that
source text, the NIV is clearer. Many say the NASB is a better translation,
but word for word is not possible between Hebrew to English or Greek to
English.
The NKJV by Nelson is the most complete. It list ALL variations between
KJV, Alexandrian and Majority.

Have you seen the NASB 95 revision? IMHO, the language is a lot
clearer.
Also, another translation I like is the WEB (World English Bible
http://www.worldenglishbible.org ) This one is based off the NAS, and
is completely free of charge.

Yes, clearer.
I think it is good to have several translation or different source bibles.
(In general), most are more in tune with the local church by using NIV or
NKJV.
WEB is used quite a bit in Lutheran churches.

Free unless you pay the printing costs.

No disagreement there. I have more than one. My favorite for research
is a KJV / NIV / Greek parallel Bible I have. It quite a nice volume
for NT study.

NASB is as obtuse in English 2006 as is the KJV. If one wishes to have that

but word for word is not possible between Hebrew to English or Greek to
English.
Have you seen the NASB 95 revision? IMHO, the language is a lot
clearer.
I bet all of the anomalies and contradictions are still there though!
Also, another translation I like is the WEB (World English Bible

is completely free of charge.

As far as them being 'corrupt', they're no more corrupt than the KJV.
I had a KJV that had several verses missing.
Its sad that the KJV Only-ists worship the KJV more than God.
And someone mentioned the NWT. The NWT is the Jehovah's Witness
version, and it has been revealed that it had only 5 translators, only
one of which had any knowledge of Greek or Hebrew, and was self-taught
at that.
The Gnostic ones are the best.

It isn't about worshipping the KJV and it is extremely
disingenuous for you to say that. All that comment
shows me, is that you are unable to refute anything
that those who read the KJV have said to you and so,
you decided to lie, by attacking them this way. It
does nothing but make you look foolish. (:
Personally, I love the KJV. And I used to read it all
the time. Now I mostly use the NKJV. But the
difference for me, is about two things.
1) Which texts the Bible is translated from. Most
modern English Bibles, like the ones you named
above, are translated from the corrupt Alexandrian
Text and I when someone knows that, then they
shouldn't stick with those translations, since that
is to prefer their translation over the correct texts.
2) How literal the translation is. I look for a literal
equivalence, not a dynamic equivalence, which the
NIV, for example is. I don't want people telling me
what they think something means, when they translate
it and no matter how much they claim otherwise,
anything other than a literal equivalence, is simply
adding someone's doctrine into the translation,
since as I said, at that point, they are assuming that
what is proper, is to avoid telling you the exact
words and to rather tell you what they suppose
that it means. A paraphrase such as the NLT,
is the worse in this regard, since a paraphrase
has very little exact wording in it.

I have no clue what the best one is.
I prefer the NASB, the Phillips, and the NIV.
As far as them being 'corrupt', they're no more corrupt than the
KJV.
I had a KJV that had several verses missing.
Its sad that the KJV Only-ists worship the KJV more than God.
Which means that the KJV has problems as it came from the TR.
First of all, even if that were true, that doesn't negate
the fact that the Bible's she listed are based on a
seriously corrupt text. Surely you aren't stupid enough
to think that you somehow proved that those translations
are good, by attacking the KJV?
Secondly, your ignorance is not proof of anything except
your ignorance. The TR is part of what is called the
Majority Texts, which is what you want your Bible to
be translated from.
No it isn't. Just because a text is in the majority doesn't say squat
about the validity of the text. Five hundred copies of an error are
just that, copies of an error. The TR is acknowledged to be fraught
with errors, just as many of the early texts were full of errors.
""""""
I want my bible to come from the earliest and best text.
"""""""""
Remember: you didn't say that.
I didn't?? I guess you are either a liar or stupid, Vernon, take your
pick. Here is what I said:
"No it isn't. Just because a text is in the majority doesn't say squat

the validity of the text. Five hundred copies of an error are just that,
copies of an error. The TR is acknowledged to be fraught with errors,

You can read, can't you Vernon?
BTW, Majority means consensus among the majority of all texts. It would
exclude what you imagine to be additions.
I know what majority means Vernon. Again, read the above, very slowly.
No you don't. You assume that God can't continue HIS word.
Let me guess Vernon, you can't read! What I assume about God has absolutely
nothing to do with whether or not I know what a MT is.
Earliest results in the Code of Hammurabi. DUUUUHHHH
What does this mean????? Are you dreaming responses again?

Earlier is better. That doesn't even hold true on the secular world.
The TR is no more "fraught with errors" than the Alexandrian or Gnostic

If you think that God just might be in charge, the TR or close sources have
proven the most common except in the RCC cult.
