Genesis is attributed to Moses, but such attributions do not necessarily
mean much in ancient literature. In actual fact, the stories included in
the book probably had an oral currency well before being set down in
writing. The earliest written versions seem to date from around 1000-
1200BC and there is strong evidence that Ezra edited a final version that
became the official Hebrew Torah version (around 440BC).

Paradoxically, most real events are highly improbable.

I've often wondered about this.
How could he have written about his own death and events afterward?
Why would he write about himself in the third-person?

===>The TAHAKH consists of three parts:
The TORAH is mostly the work of an editor, probably a
Jeremiah & his scribe(s).
The PROPHETS were mostly produced by the names attached.
The WRITINGS are mostly from unknown authors. -- L.

Nobody knows, except in very general terms.
