"Why do bad things happen to good people?" This is the title of a book =
written by a Rabbi Harold S. Kushner. The book was inspired by the =
agonizing death of his son. Is God some sort of sadist?
=20
Sunday's "act of God" is sure to raise the question again. Many people =
wonder why so many innocent people had to die, especially the children, =
in Asia's earthquake and tsunamis. The disaster raises the age old =
question about God's love, and the suffering He allows on the earth.
=20
Many modern day Christians have a false idea about the character and =
nature of God. They have not read their bibles wholly. Their Old =
Testament reading is in neglect. They shrug off God's severe judgments =
toward those who rebel against Him. They believe He has somehow changed. =
God has not changed, "He is the same yesterday, and today and forever." =
Hebrews 13:8
=20
Most people do not understand themselves! Like Rabbi Kushner, they =
believe themselves to be basically good. Jesus has a different view:
=20
"And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing =
shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why =
callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if =
thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments." Matthew 19:16-17
=20
Most people don't know God's Commandments; they have been systematically =
removed or displaced. Why do bad things happen to good people? There are =
no good people! We are all better or worse, but none of us is good. That =
is why we stand in need of a Savior! "All have sinned, and have fallen =
short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23=20
=20
Everyone casts themselves in the most benevolent light. We marginalize =
our imperfections, and wink at our depravity; we quickly forget our most =
gross sins. The god we have invented loves us unconditionally. He would =
not cast us into hell. Oh no! He loves us just the way we are. He hates =
our sins, but He loves us! He is preparing a bigger mansion for us than =
the one we already have! Each room has a fireproof floor.
=20
God's timing is always perfect. The beaches were littered with Sabbath =
breakers, many of them would have been saved had they been in church. =20
=20
People always look to someone, or something to blame. The tragedy might =
have been averted in part had there been an early warning system in =
place. I don't think an early warning system would have mattered much. I =
have been systematically giving out warnings for years with little =
results. Jeremiah warned Israel and the surrounding nations for 40 =
years. They ignored his warnings to the bloody end.=20
=20
We ought to count our blessings nervously. We are enjoying unmerited =
favor from God. We as a nation are living on borrowed grace, grace that =
is rapidly expiring.=20
=20
Warren Buffet, the Wizard of Wall Street, warns of an economic tsunami =
due to America's 10 trillion dollar debt. He has invested heavily in =
foreign currencies. Buffet, a pagan, puts his money where his mouth is.=20
=20
Most Christians who profess the 2nd Coming of Christ live carelessly. We =
are idle as our nation provokes Almighty God to anger. 25,000 plus =
people killed by an act of God is less than one week's work in America's =
abortuaries. The unborn children willfully killed are the most innocent =
and helpless of our nation's people.=20
=20
Christians are hostile to the messenger who warn the wicked about God's =
judgment. They want to present a positive message! There is nothing very =
positive about earthquakes and tsunamis. Would it be impolite to tell my =
neighbor "your house is on fire?" Should we not warn them about their =
souls?

mmm that sounds very biggoted, may as well call em semites, considering most
semites believe in God, and its the same God of Abraham.
But like in history the Christians were too violent so too the Moslems are
doing it similar now days.
But prophecies are being fullfilled, and there is much evidence that God is
real.
What is the hard thing to believe is that so many people think they are
doing God's will by sons of bitches and murderers.

"Why do bad things happen to good people?"
Because with the Rainbow came a promise from God....
that God would not intervene again. God has kept that
promise. If one can not trust God, who can you trust?
Bad things happen to good people because ***** does
happen. But the main reason bad things happen to
good people is because evil made no promise to not
intervene into our lives. God expected people to learn.
Some did, some haven't, some never will.
Because there is no God!

In the end, Christ returns and a great part of the world makes war against
Him. He has the power so He intervenes and conquers so that the world will
live at peace under His rule and His Law. There will be great destruction,
it is described in the Bible, it will be worse than the flood of Noah.

good people is because evil made no promise to not
intervene into our lives. God expected people to learn.
Some did, some haven't, some never will.
Because there is no God!
Get used to it Fundies!
Does someone need to be a Fundie to believe in God?
mmm that sounds very biggoted, may as well call em semites,
considering
most
semites believe in God, and its the same God of Abraham.
But like in history the Christians were too violent so too the
Moslems
are
doing it similar now days.
But prophecies are being fullfilled, and there is much evidence that
God
is
real.
What is the hard thing to believe is that so many people think they
are
doing God's will by sons of bitches and murderers.

"Why do bad things happen to good people?"
Because with the Rainbow came a promise from God....
that God would not intervene again. God has kept that
promise. If one can not trust God, who can you trust?
But God didn't say He would never intervene again, He said He would not
flood the earth again. There's a difference and in the end times it sure
reads like God will be intervening in a big way.
but one must look at the results of that flood...the end effect and why
there was a flood in the first place....death...evil. Death can come
in many forms....and that is what I take it to all mean....that God
would not "flood" the earth again and start over once again. God
has intervened in my life as She has in others.....it can be like a
mystery and hard to figure out even when at times it's really super
simple.
The flood was supposed to wipe out evil. It failed. The people after the
flood were just as bad as the ones before. It was all for nothing.
The bible god failed.

I think it was a teaching, sort of an example. If God had intended to wipe
out evil, He would have killed Satan. The point for mankind is to learn to
resist Satan and his plans for mankind. God is still creating us, we have
to grow in spirit. Satan is trying to hinder that process out of envy and
intent to destroy God's master plan.

It was obviously an example to show that the only way to fix things is
through violence and destruction.
Ok, the earth needs fixing. Lets blow it up and kill everyone. Then it
should work better. That's what the christian god does so it must be the
best and only way.
If God had intended to wipe
out evil, He would have killed Satan.
If the bible god really intended to wipe out evil then he would have
flipping well done so by now. If we're lucky he might do it in the next
release of the bible - the new New testament - Return of the King.
Should be a good read.
The point for mankind is to learn to
resist Satan and his plans for mankind.
We're not learning. We seem to keep going back to kindergarten with the
serpent in the garden story again and again. We're stuck in a 'first year'
time loop.
God is still creating us, we have
to grow in spirit. Satan is trying to hinder that process out of envy
and

God seems to be having a lot of trouble with that plan of his.
How many humans have suffered and died so far?
To think that it all started because one day he fancied some humans for
fellowship and he wanted someone to love him without him having to force
them.
That fancy became a plan and now look what it's become.

Some are. I don't think God meant to get everyone this go 'round. People
think saved "from" instead of saved "for". Some are called now, suppose
they are the ones who will teach the rest in a world of peace? Instead of a
world of reward and punishment, some are being called to change inside.
Those being changed have chosen to give up the "pleasures" of this world
for the next. We don't have to appease this god, we have to choose to go
the way He is leading us. Surely you can see the world as its going now
will not last. Suppose there is a world where people are good to one
another, where you can leave your doors unlocked, where it isn't all about
money and things but trust and peace?
God is still creating us, we have

The Jewish religion is what is in the first part of the Bible. They've
"tweaked" it with the Talmud. Calling it the "Jewish" religion isn't quite
correct, it was the Israelite religion. Judah was only one tribe out of
twelve who all practised the same thing. They kept the Sabbath, your own
Bible tells you the Sabbath is the seventh day. Man changed it to the first
day of the week without God's permission or authority. There are seven holy
festivals that "man" has rejected that have a lot of meaning. "Man's"
Christianity is not the same as the Christianity of the Bible. Compare and
you'll see for yourself. There is a battle going on, "evil" tries to
corrupt the faith of the Bible and in many ways it has been successful.
Seek and ye shall find. If you are sincere in searching, God will see to it
you find the answers.
Here's a site that describes the holy days and festivals of the Bible:

Hi,
I was not sure where you are going with this but, from the first part
though it seemed that you were saying that the Jews were the descendants of
Judah only. I simply want to point out that the 12 tribes you mentioned are
all part of Israel i.e. Judaism. Judaism belongs to the sons and
descendants of Jacob in the Bible (Genesis chapter 30 to about chapter 49).
Jacob was the father or Judah and 11 other sons with names like Reuben,
Benjamin, Joseph, etc.

pontificated:
"Why do bad things happen to good people?"

promise. If one can not trust God, who can you trust?
Well, He didn't say He wouldn't have any part in the
goings on on this planet. He did say that He would not
destroy the Earth again.
Bad things happen to good people because ***** does
happen. But the main reason bad things happen to
good people is because evil made no promise to not
intervene into our lives. God expected people to learn.
Some did, some haven't, some never will.
True enough.

The initials of my handle here are not, "PF".
The following questions was asked...
"Why do bad things happen to good people?"
Your response was...
"Because with the Rainbow came a promise from God....
that God would not intervene again."
Certainly this person was discussing bad things that
happen to good people. I am not trying to pick on you.
I simply thought that your response was incorrect on
two counts.
1) You seem to agree that there are "good people".
This is implied by your response beginning with the
word, "Because".
Romans 3:12,23
12) They are all gone out of the way, they are together
become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no,
not one.
23) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of
God;
2) The rainbow was a promise that God would not
intervene.
You say now that He does and that's fine. My point was
that the rainbow was a promise specific to not
destroying the world as He did that time. In fact, it
doesn't even say that He would not destroy the world
again. It just says He would do it THAT WAY again.
Genesis 9:14-15
14) And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud
over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the
cloud:
15) And I will remember my covenant, which is between
me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and
the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all
flesh.

Because babay jesus wanted it that way.

"Why do bad things happen to good people"?
Imagine if to be a Christian meant no sickness, no pain, no troubles,

we in Christ know that the benefit is even greater, eternal life in the
