EZEKIEL, THEN AND NOW

Why sovereignty

To read the Bible in one year, today Read: Acts 1-3

To Know:

³But when I speak to you, I will open your mouth and you shall say to them,
ŒThis is what the Sovereign Lord says,ı Whoever will listen let him listen,
and whoever will refuse let him refuse; for they are a rebellious house.²
(Ezek. 3:27 NIV)

The second crisis in my pastorate at the Byfield Parish Church concerned the
sovereignty of God. Many American Christians believe they share in the
divine sovereignty. One well-known evangelist believes human choice limits
divine sovereignty. My own preaching was in danger of opening the door that
would invite the human will to encroach on Godıs sovereign will. In the
summer of 1978 I was on Monhegan Island and sat down to outline my next
years sermons when the word of the Lord came to me. He spoke to me by words
that I heard in my mind. He said, ³If you do not preach my absolute
sovereignty I will remove you from the pulpit of the Byfield Parish Church.
Twenty-four months earlier the Lord had spoken to me through the mouth of
Barbara Carlson to tell me that my fruit for him would come forth in
Byfield. My deepest conscious motivation was the desire to be enormously
fruitful in the Lordıs service and now I was threatened with being removed
from that place of greatest service.

God speaks of his sovereignty over two hundred times in the forty-eight
chapters that comprise the book of Ezekiel. The New International
Translation makes the emphasis on sovereignty in Ezekiel plain to see. When
we are truly convinced in the absolute sovereignty of Christ then we are
free to be led by the way life happens to us. Now we know that a divine hand
directs events. That is why Jesus could say to the disciples, ³Believe me
that I am in the Father and the Father in me; or else believe me for the
sake of the works themselves.² (Jn. 14:11) The word of God comes true. True
prophets prophesy true happenings. Christ was commanding me to preach his
absolute sovereignty so that everyone in the Byfield Parish Church could be
sure of his will by learning the story of the church. Does what has happened
in the Byfield Parish Church for the past third of a century say yes or no
to the claim that Christ called us to be a watchman for our house of Israel,
which is the United Church of Christ?

Is it because I'm a smelly uneducated *****-eater? If so, it's HIS
fault because that's the way he made me.
He's such a prat at times.

That's what Charles Manson said about "society". Quote: Society should
be on trial not me, for I am the product of society, and if I am faulty,
then it's not my fault, but the fault of the society which made me what I
am. Is Charley Manson your hero and paradigm, and will you be dangerous

Give yourself to Christ and let Him give you an extreme makeover. You
will come up smelling of roses.

It's alright for you, pastor Franque, you probably haven't got a small,
smelly penis like me, you've probably got a large one which attracts
lots of men and women to you. God obviously looked well upon you. But
try putting yourself in the shoes of someone like me; no talent, no
education, small penis, strange aroma, tendency to eat my own pooh
resulting in smelly breath - so you think God was having a great idea
when he made me?

If you give up eating ***** your complexion may clear up and all those
pimples dripping and oozing puss may eventually dry up. A shower
and 4 bottles of listerine will kill the halitosis, but there is no cure
for stupidity. I'm afraid you're destined to be a fuckwad for life....

Or he might come up smelling like a burnt offering;
The law of the sin offering:
24 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 25 Speak unto Aaron and
to his sons, saying, This is the law of the sin offering: In the place
where the burnt offering is killed shall the sin offering be killed
before the LORD: it is most holy.
Lev 6:24-25 (KJV)
And of course, like in church, the priests always get theirs!
The priest that offereth it for sin shall eat it: in the holy place
shall it be eaten, in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Lev 6:26 (KJV)
But you can always be sure your blood will not be eaten; it'll be burned.
And no sin offering, whereof any of the blood is brought into the
tabernacle of the congregation to reconcile withal in the holy place,
shall be eaten: it shall be burnt in the fire.
Lev 6:30 (KJV)

Why? Are you a Jew, that you should quote the Tanakh? Perhaps you should

Isn't scripture suitable for profitable doctrine, for reprof, and for
correction? 2 Tim 3:16 (KJV)
Now you know.
I don't pretend like I can just put aside the parts of the bible I find
to be an abomination while keeping the rest; that would be dishonesty.
You can't be selective about god's word, can you?

No, that verse is wrong. The Bible is not suitable for anything related to
morality.

It's alright for you, AcesDucky, you probably get invited to loads of
barbeques and birthday parties and that and God probably gave you a
pleasant aroma and attractive sex-organs. Unlike ME. I think he
must've been having a laugh when he put me together. Maybe he used all
the bits Michael Jackson refused.
All I know is it's HIS fault that I'm a disgusting waste of time and
space and the only thing that stands out about me is the smell.
My name's Willie Boylan, by the way, and I spend hours copying stuff
off other peoples websites and pass it off as my own on usenet. I
mean, that really IS low, isn't it? I mean, not as low as the smell,
but pretty low anyway.
All the best with YOUR proper-sized genitals

Why don't you *pray in your deepest earnest, out loud, for the
correction of such problems.*
If you have already done so, then there's your answer.
If your problems become solved, then there's your answer.
You might also *stop eating crap.* Garbage in, garbage out.
As for your genitals, be sure to include *not* passing-on those genetic
mistakes, unless you'd like your offspring to suffer your same maladies.
And finally, as one person said, "Perhaps you're paying off a huge
(karmic?) debt."

Try Christianity (New Testament) it is far better than Judaism (Old
