Why would God create Satan? |
Why would God create Satan?
Did God need Satan only to make himself feel good or superior?
Did God know how boring heaven was without a hell to look down upon?
Or did God know how screwed up humans are and how prone to (falling) that
even pure hearted souls can be over the long haul?
If I were God, I would be laughing my Holy Almighty ***** off.

John 2:2; 4:10) This could only be accomplished by condemning all mankind in
the one man. Due to that condemnation, mankind has also been subjected for a
short time under the present "sun" of vanity, that mankind might be
exercised by that severe travail, learning the lesson of the results of sin
and mankind's rule by man. -- Job 5:7; Psalm 39:5,6; Ecclesiastes 1:2,13,14;
2:1;11,19,21,23; 3:19; 4:7; 8:9; 9:9; 11:8; Romans 8:19-22.

there's a REAL SIMPLE ANSWER, don't put it within the human reach to begin

Finally, when everything fails, he admits he is "sorry he made them",
and decides to destroy all life by drowning them in water, like unwanted
puppies.

Hello,
God didn't create Satan as "Satan". He created him as William, or
Frederick, or whatever his name was. The word "Satan" means
"resister". Thus AT SOME POINT IN TIME AFTER HIS CREATION, Satan
resisted God and became a wicked rebel. God didn't created him that
way, anymore than God created Adam and Eve to rebel against Him also.
That was the choice of free moral agents.
But did God know of all these things in advance? If He did, then that
would make God responsible for bringing wickedness into our reality.
The Bible tells us that God DOES NOT ALWAYS exercise His powers of
seeing into the future. He certainly can do so if He chooses to. But
He also has the CHOICE not to.
For example, God chose NOT to know all the goings on at one point, in
the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah. Here is the Bible proof. Ge 18:20,21,
"Then the LORD said, "The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so
great and their sin so grievous 21 that I will go down and see if what
they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I
will know."" (NIV)
Clearly, God did not know the full scope of the goings on in Sodom and
Gomorrah at that time, except what He had heard. So He was going to
"go down" and find out the facts for Himself, then, He said, "I will
know".
But why didn't God just destroy all those free-willed rebels right
from the start, and do it all over again? Because that would not PROVE
that only God's ways are the best ways. It is like the saying in the
world, 'Is your defense so weak that you will not even discuss it?'
Satan and others have challenged God on many issues, such as Satan
challenging God's right to rule His intelligent creations. Satan
called God a liar, and insinuated that Adam and Eve could do better
for themselves by going their own way, instead of God's. Such type
things had to be settled ONCE AND FOR ALL, so that in the future if
any other intelligent free-willed beings wanted to challenge God that
His ways may not be the best ways, the proof will have been written in
history for all to see. One look around the world today PROVES that
not following God's truths can lead humans into much pain and
suffering etc. (such as failing to follow the command to "love your
neighbor as yourself." -- Mt 19:19) Yes, as the Bible puts it at Jer
10:23,
"I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man
to direct his steps." (NIV)
How completely true that is.
