WITCHCRAFT! What does that word bring to your mind? |
The Bible confirms the existence of the Devil and charges him with
much of the suffering and turmoil on earth. (Revelation 12:12) Jesus
not only taught that the Devil exists but also showed that it is
possible unwittingly to do the will of the Devil. For example,
self-righteous religious leaders of the first century asserted that
they were, in a way, sons of God and believed that they were doing the
will of God. Jesus, who could discern what was in their hearts, knew
differently. He told them forthright: "You are from your father the
Devil, and you wish to do the desires of your father." (John 8:44)
Further, the Bible book of Revelation states that the Devil "is
misleading the entire inhabited earth."—Revelation 12:9.

This would be less a load of rubbish if JC could be shown to have ever
existed as a human, let alone as the 'son of a god'. This was a story
made up because too many folks were asking the clerics "Where is this god
you keep talking about, we want to see him". Well they couldn't produce
Him, of course, so His son was the next best thing. They were very
simple then, and some of us are no better today!

Nature tells man to consult reason, and to take it for his guide:
religion teaches him that his reason is corrupted, that it is only a
treacherous guide, given by a deceitful God to lead his creatures
astray. Nature tells man to enlighten himself, to search after truth, to
instruct himself in his duties: religion enjoins him to examine nothing,
to remain in ignorance, to fear truth.

How is it that the Gospel accounts fail to persuade you? You're asking me
to believe that the account of Jesus Christ was fabricated out of whole
cloth, and part of some con game that has persisted for two millennia and
hoodwinked millions? And, you call me simple?

Since there is _no_ independent evidence that such a person actually
existed then yes. It is those who believe that are simple. The New
Testament is the only evidence for the existence of Yeshua ben Yosef
of Nazareth. He is not mentioned in Josephus and many smaller events
are listed in those histories.

• The good news about G. W. being reelected is that he has the
responsibility for cleaning up the mess he made in Iraq. G. W. took heat
from the short-sighted for not going full-throttle in Tora Bora when he
had the chance of killing Osama bin Laden. However, this turned out to be
either a brilliant - or a serendipitous - political move since, if bin
Laden was kept alive, he could probably be depended on to make a real
scary appearance on al-Jazerra TV just before the 2004 election, frighten
the bejesus out of undecided voters, and hand G. W. the golden plum he
craved: one-upping his daddy.
Karl "Turd Blossom" Rove is probably laughing his ***** off this morning.
Congrats, Karl.

If there was any truth to what you just wrote, some may think you had a
brain.
You are so stupid that you actually believe the blogging about GW. I don't
know or know of an intelligent and very anti Republican Democrat that is as
stupid as you and your kind. If you are going to be a liberal or a
Democrat, get an education and quit embarrassing all but the M. Moore crowd.

TOTALLY WRONG
So increasing job and economic competition with the rest of the world is
crazy?
So equalizing the tax structure is crazy?
Apparently you love to pay high taxes.
Oh! Yes, for the mentally and educationally challenged, increasing taxes on
the so called rich increases the cost to the general public by a two to one
ratio.
For the mathematically challenged this means for every extra dollar paid in
taxes by the so called rich, the middle class and poor pay two dollars in
product.
For those who are really retarded through negative education such as
journalists, the so called rich always make the same money. The middle
class and poor ALWAYS pay for ALL of the government.
It may take many a few weeks to figure the following out.
Most corporations base their sell price on cost plus overhead plus G&A times
1.X where X is the percent profit. Taxes are in overhead and G&A. Of
course the original cost of goods and labor will have already been burdened
with taxes on the source.
The middle class and poor ALWAYS pay for ALL of the government.
Second where did you hear the nonsense?

The only source of your sentiments about Rove is the FAR FAR left.
** I saw an interview with ex Texas gov Ann Richard. She talked about
Karl Rove's brilliant plan for G. W. to beat the popular gov. in her bid
for re-election. Karl Rove is so important to this administration that he
attends NSC meetings. Two, other sources are those who have observed - but
not admired - Rove's activities and an interview with the author of the
book: "Bush's Brain". Karl invites comparison with Niccolo Machiavelli

Well I'm glad you sucked in to it.
The phrasing was from the Democratic Farm Labor and Democratic Socialist
party, the mother of liberals / democrats.
The carrot was to convince all that since they were the only ones actually
paying for the government, they should get ALL the benefits and forget what
Hitler was doing in Europe.
A little historic education goes a long ways.
Negative historic education will eventually be our downfall. We will get
sucked into the liberal / Socialist paradigm and fall.
Bush talked way over the heads of the miss educated.

Care to state which historians, not apologetics, & which journals they
publish in. One would expect such journals to be academic & not apologetic
of course. Then, you can maybe explain why for upward of 2000 years there
has been no evidence [as in zero] found for one Jesus of Nazareth.
Please, no assuming your conclusions, no circular reasoning, no special
exceptions, or any other logical fallacy.
Now, if your argument is there is a Jesus back then, agreed, just not the
one of the xian myth.
Josephus the Jew has some of them recorded IIRC, which I may not.

That is like saying that only the documents that
mention Caesar are evidence for his existence, so
therefore, you are simple if you believe he existed.
Let me lay it out for you. You speak from ignorance
and a lack of research. You have no idea what Josephus
said, nor would you understand why Jesus wouldn't be
mentioned, if Josephus didn't mention Him. You also
have no clue what other evidence exists and if I showed
it to you, you would merely hand wave it away. You
also have no clue whatsoever how ancient documents are
viewed by scholars, when they are found. By your
logic, many people who history books tell us existed,
never actually did, since there is certainly far less
textual evidence for their existence than Jesus'. Now
you may claim that the New Testament documents are
different, because they are religious. But that is not
true. Caesar claimed to be divine. Do you throw out
the textual evidence of his existence? Of course not,
since he doesn't let you know you're a sinner in need
of salvation. He doesn't hold a mirror up to you.
Jesus does and you don't like that, so you try to
"intellectualize" Him away. But you only make yourself
look foolish, to those who know how research in this
area is actually done.

How is it that the Gospel accounts fail to persuade you? You're
asking me to believe that the account of Jesus Christ was fabricated
out of whole cloth, and part of some con game that has persisted for
two millennia and hoodwinked millions? And, you call me simple?
