Look at these to put on the wall - I am going to get some for Maria,
and perhaps above the door in my bedroom sill eh?

they're fun. did you ever have those stick-on stars that glow in the dark?
they're nice to have on the ceiling.

Maria had the stick on glow stars when she was little - we even had
glowing dragons and a moon and castle. She really likes hanging
objects (she has a flying elephant from India and a beautful green
glitter hanging witch not to mention a dream catcher and hanging
colored lights).
We are both rather . . . hmm, not sure how to put it - shiny, colored
stone, blown glass, glitter, etc etc. if it looks medieval and/or
antique ornamental and fanciful. Yes, fanciful is the word.
Did you fix up your daughter's room when she was little?

sounds lovely. i've seen those dream catchers but never had one.
my son kind of fixated on elephants as a kid. he was frightened of the
world for a while, and he developed a strong feeling about them as
"protectors" he wanted to have around. so his room had elephants in it of
various kinds: wood, stone, stuffed, and so on. he collected them.

she drew continuously from the time she could hold a crayon, and
was always making things, so her room was mostly decorated with her own
stuff... lots of it. mobiles, drawings, paintings, clay stuff. i especially
remember a huge wire and papier-maché bird with green and purple boa
feathers that sat on an oversized perch hanging from the ceiling. her living
space always looked like colorful chaos, an extension of her mental
workshop. it still does.
