Maria and I are suppose to leave tomorrow morning for medieval
conference in Kalamazoo - big deal - 3000 people go, many many
lectures, food, a huge book fair, every publisher who deals with
medieval something there - law, history, literature, religion etc. etc.
Films some neat wax seals from monarchs, replicas Maria loves . . . I
am just, well, I am just.
Semester over and now just need to finish papers and do Latin final -
wow one year in grad school down . . .
John . . he makes me feel small, and worthless. I wish he would go off
planet to Mars or anywhere but on this earth.
Scotch. I need to sip a scotch, neat, thirty years old.

Somehow I don't think it would make a difference. You need him out of your
head and heart, not off the planet. No place is far enough away as long as
you allow this to continue.

Now that sounds like a great idea. Once you and Maria get to the conference
I'm sure your spirits will pick up. Just let loose and have fun hon. You
deserve it after all the work you've done this year.
