Waiting to hear from Dean to know if it is a go -- I am on pins and needles
waiting like a woman waiting anxiously for a call from her lover. Did two
papers, except for bibliography and final small editing -- cleaned desk and
three months of dust off, put book in order, and now have to start thinking
about thesis and OXford paper . . .
There is so much time and worry taken up with getting on professional feet
again, and fretting and caring of Maria that there is not a second to spend
trying to put the internal house in order. Very lonley (it is quite isolated
writing a thesis) and want to phone a girl friend and laugh over some idiotic
thing that leaves you with that good warm feeling after at being alive.
Oh well, spend too much time moping. But gosh, if this job comes through it
will be so GREAT to be with students and faculty again on a daily basis.
