somone just knocked at the door! I live in this middle-sized apartment
building, about 80 apartments I have lived here for 8 years, I talk to no one,
I have no friends here, no one ever says hi to me or anything, of course I am
aware that I don't say hi either,
There was this girl at the door and she wants to know do I have jumper
cables?? her battery died, I was so caught off guard, I do have jumpers,,,
I asked her was she just going along knocking on doors? why did she pick my
door? she did not tell me...,c'mon there had to be a reason why she picked my
door, I think if she had told me the truth right then I would have helped
her, still I feel bad,,, I lied.. I do have cables,

In what way was this person not honest with you? It seems she asked about
jumper cables in the first place. Or is there something I missed?

there are 80 apartments here, why my door??? why not the guy next store? my
apartment is in the middle of the row? why stop here? why did she choose this
door? I asked was she just going down the row knocking on doors and she said
no, soo there had to be a reason ? right? am I rreally not making any sense?

Maybe you can look out and see if she stranded by a car? You could always
offer the cables now if you saw her? Don't beat yourself up for being cautious.

So, you say "oh, aah, yes, somewhere, just a moment ..." and dash off to
find them. Meanwhile, the nice stranded girl sneaks in through the door
you have politely not locked again, finds something saleable (or your
wallet or car-keys) and you can guess the rest.
