It is a good thing on Spring break right now for very rattled. Not too
depressed, more giddy. See surgeon next week about operation on my
legs. And nervous waiting to hear from Michigan where I REALLY want to
go (Maria would love Ann Arbor and department is GREAT). But have to
be patient until April 10th or so.
Ready to do some work today but in the scattered place where not sure
where to turn. Need to work up materials for History of Punishment for
the summer. Need to do some reading to see how to make this article
richer before I send it out to law reviews. Determined to get through
Oresteia (maybe think of doing article on it). And . . .I really want
to go and get some bright pink lipstick with Maria (but not going to do
until tomorrow IF I get work done today).
Maria wants to read letters between John and I that I kept. There are
well over a hundred. I am not going to let her because she is too
young. But when I die I will leave them for her so she understands
what was happening to her mommy when mommy was gone for a while. Not
feeling overwhelmed by John today. Every day I can say this is a good
day.
But I am lonley for a kindred spirit. Oh well. Maybe I will age into
one of these quirky interesting old lady professors who have a
mysterious dark past and pearls of wisdom for the young (an Ethel
Barrymore type? )
