So far as food in batches, I've been on a kick with that lately myself.
I've got this cold cucumber soup that is currently my most favorite
food, it goes like this:
3 big tubs of Astro Plain Yogurt (fat free)
1 sour cream (fat free) <---- it really makes no difference at all so
might as well use the fat free stuff
3 -4 english cucumbers, peeled and seeds removed (cut in half, use
grapefruit spoon)then grated
3/4 big lemons
fresh dill chopped up
as much garlic as you can stand (this depends on contact with
non-garlic eating others)
olive oil
Okay, are we bored yet? Just in case not, here's another great summer
batch food (and these meals are cheap, too!)
bunch of tomatoes
bunch of lemons
bunch of parsley
mild onion (red or white are good)
olive oil
as much garlic as you can cope with
coup de grace - feta.
These last me for three days.

One thing I know about cal (we've known each other for a few years and

'John'. Her current crisis is because she ignored that advice and got

a very bad idea, but she did it anyway.
It wouldn't be so bad if it were just her, but I doubt that her daughter
is thrilled by it happening yet again.

Perhaps. Or maybe the onus on Alan to "perceive" it differently isn't the
issue. Maybe it could have been "worded" differently and that's the issue.
Alan expressing his feelings on the matter is mostly what we do here and he
isn't automatically wrong just because some might not like what he has to
say.
Yeah well, I think he's wrong. I've certainly seen this happen here
before and it's not just Alan, either. When you talk about "onus", I
think it's unfair to expect people to tip toe around another's overly
developed sensitivities to personal slights if it's clearly not
intended to slam anyone. I think the most obvious offenders, like the
infamous "crush threads" have been eradicated because being excluded
was just as hurtful as being included was delightful. I can see that
but this whole thing feels like an entirely different animal to me.
