but here's my wishes that you find a job you like or
a school you like... I'd go back to school but CS
is crazy, one can't get a decent undergrad degree
if one has a degree in anything ... it's dishonest
IMO. they want you to pay graduate rates for the
same classes.

well enough about me. I understand the lure of
theory and all that.

well enough about me. I understand the lure of
theory and all that.

Most of the schools that I've tentatively talked to either want a fully
technical set of degrees or a lot of experience in the field.
I'll drag a stack of punch cards in....

the year i entered college was the year they upgraded the
computer system so that i never needed punch cards. i was very
lucky.

Then you never got the joy of spilling them. I didn't either, I was always
paranoid about that. I did have some cards that I had to re-punch as the
machine mangled them - but not so bad that it was like a paper shredder.
