Object: @ I write my own will @
and cheated by using my grampas executed will (written by his
attorney), since my circumstances are the same.
I know how to look all kinds of legal stuff, so it is just like most
people look at writing a resume.
Not everybody can do it correctly, and there is risk, but I like to
gamble with life when I got the odds in my favor. And this is NOT for
everybody.
BUT, the main reason you should have a will is: Who would get your kids
if you dont have a will? Would you want that?
I dont want to die for a long long time, but it pays to be prepared.

I know. That consideration was for people who have minors still, and
credit for it goes to Bruce Williams ( talk radio show guy ) for
thinking of it.

Hi Tim,
Good for you. Just one question. I do not know what state you are in
but did you make sure you followed current rules on form? What I mean
is is that some states do not allow hand written wills (I do not know
if you typed or scripted it). Also, are the signitures where they
should be? In most states the two witnesses must sign *below* your
signing. Just little things like that.
There are so many legal matters a smart lay person can do on his own
without huge attorney fees eh??
You should still consider law school. Never too late to go. (I am
ruefully living proof). I agree. I don't want to die either, but I am
concerned for Maria and we are doing our wills now too.
Best to you

reminds me that we keep meaning to do ours...
we'll use a state-specific computer program. no cash for
lawyers, unfortunately. at least it should be legal and have
the gist of what we want done.

Do they have that sort of program now? Wow, technology eh? Good idea.

Ohio, and last I changed it, either 2 signatures, or 1 notary, either
way. Thanks for the *below* and I will check on that, even though mine
is that way. I do it just for fun, since my attorney is reasonable and
knowlegable, and honest (probably TOO HONEST for my tastes LOL)
I might do school for paralegal only. Dont want to be an attorney in
the least.
Good to hear from you, thats why I put the "roses" in the subject line

Well that makes two of you checking up on what's required.
So although I believe you (TK) could find out and do
a holographic will, you have expert advice, which is
good to hear.

Rosena, I also want to add, a big thank you, because I definately WILL
have my attorney *review* this *next* will, before I
probate-court-vault it again, because I *fully expect* a certain very
high-power attorney will contest it if I die sooner someone else. It
has to be totally legal, and perfect, and air-tight this time.

Rosena, mine is computer printed, just like the sucessfully probated
one, but you really got my curiosity up. I will find where it says that
a hand written will is void, because it interests me, just for fun :-)
Thanks for the fun quick project!
I am sure my attorney would do it for $80 or $100, but I do it just for
fun, and use his $100 an hour skills for things that require expert
skill only.
