10 million reasons |
what would you do if you won the lotto? or received an inheritance? let's
say 10 million dollars. that's the official low end for rich people.
you could invest it at 5% and still have $500,000 per year to live on.
would you party? would you work on string theory?

my Celeron 2.4 ghz runs Windows XP SP2 and Mandrake Linux 2006. my Pentium

i plan to get some more hard drives, since my desktop have 4 internal bays.
i can add 3 more drives. i guess i need another IDE interface card.

i have 3 here now , but i have access to 14
the most i've had connected on the same LAN was of course 5. they were
Celeron laptop, Celeron desktop, AMD K7 desktop, Sun Microsparc, and one
other one. most ran Debian, Slackware, or Windows.
the current machines aren't all networked. there is an old Macintosh, an
AMD laptop, Pentium III, Pentium I, 2 Celeron desktops, and Itronix laptop.
i guess that's 7 total. i sold my Sun and several of my Pentiums. one of
my favorites was an HP workstation with SCSI drive. i also like my Itronix
laptop, and i'd like to get a faster one with Windows XP. i loved my Compaq
laptop and i've been tempted to order something similar from Dell.
i have used my self control to avoid running up a huge debt on my Dell
credit line. i guess the Dells are ok. they start at $300 with FreeDOS or
$350 with Windows XP. i'd like to get an XPS, but can't afford it.
i took my 2.4 Ghz machine up to 3 Ghz, but it was not Prime95 stable, so i
went back to factory settings. i'd like to add faster RAM, and CPU and RAM
coolers. then i'll take it up to 2.7 Ghz. the extra horsepower will be
good for searching for large prime numbers.

i would have 20 computers and 20 isps ,
and i would have 20 user names ,
and i would spend the day in asd ,
fighting with all my selves
haha this is a good idea. my peak LAN was 5 machines. most were Windows,
and some were linux. i also had Solaris.
i currently only have 3 computers, but there were once 8 at this residence
(laptop, 1 Mac, 6 Intel desktops).

what would you do if you won the lotto? or received an inheritance?
let's
say 10 million dollars. that's the official low end for rich
people.
you could invest it at 5% and still have $500,000 per year to live
on.
would you party? would you work on string theory?
Gravity
i would post i asd
haha. i'd probably post less with 10 million dollars in my account.
