100 Greatest Quotes from fundamentalist christian chat rooms |
Seen in another group:
http://duggmirror.com/comedy/100_Greatest_Quotes_from_fundamentalist_christian_chat_rooms/
While there are a load of ridiculous and sickening ones to choose from
this well thought out anti-science rant struck me:
"There are a lot of things I have concluded to be wrong, without
studying them in-depth. Evolution is one of them. The fact that I
don't know that much about it does not bother me in the least.
AV1611VET, Christian Forums [Comments (91)] [2006-Sep-12]"
This made me LOL!
"Everyone knows scientists insist on using complex terminology to make
it harder for True Christians to refute their claims.
Deoxyribonucleic Acid, for example... sounds impressive, right? But
have you ever seen what happens if you put something in acid? It
dissolves! If we had all this acid in our cells, we'd all dissolve! So
much for the Theory of Evolution, Check MATE!
EnemyPartyII, Christianforums.com [Comments (86)] [2007-Dec-02]"
And this filthy tirade against a young disabled girl turned my
stomach:
"[about a girl being born with mental disabilities]
This girl is like a leper so what she needs to do is try and find god
if she really believes she can be healed from this state, she will be
healed from this state
*Most afflictions like this are caused by sins committed while still
inside the womb*. If she can repent for what she does god will embrace
her and make her as human as you or me but if she chooses not to
she'll always be like this
god tests every one of us [emphasis added]
theSAVED, Penny Arcade [Comments (176)] [2007-Jan-14]"
The joys of ignorance!

Ignorance is no excuse in law. Or something like that.

The opinions given above may be mine. They might also
just be what I feel like saying right now, okay?

Amen to that.
The site quoted is so far off in the loony bin, makes
everyone here look sane. And I'm not sane however
still think I can comment that is insane.
I base what I say on logic, not a fairy story such as
religion.
I study science when I need to solve a problem or question
in my mind. It always tends to come up with something that
works, even if the maths can get a little weird.
Religion, I've got no time for - it's a fairy story. Might have some
true sayings in it from time to time, other than that no more
important
than TV movies folk watch. One thing for sure it causes death
and damage, wars over time than anything else. That is proof,
and documented as fact.
So ***** it.
The only thing I can't explain is reincarnation. That one I believe
in, and don't really have an explaination for my previous life. The
rest
of it ... physics/maths/science/chemistry explains fairly much what is
going on, and makes sense. I use it from time to time to do stuff that
actually works in the real world.

The joys of ignorance!
Laugh at the parody, then get to thinking, maybe it isn't.

This stuff insults quiet Xtians; the ones who don't get up and shout "I
am an Ignorant Bigot!"
