i remember it vividly as well. i was in college when it happened, and was
working for one of my business professors grading tests when the news came
in over the radio. it was such a shock.
i also will never forget watching the 2nd plane hit the 2nd tower on 9/11.
i was standing there in front of the tv watching nbc talk about the first
plane when the second one came into view and hit the 2nd tower right before
my eyes. that's another image that will stick with me forever.

It's strange how memory works...very,very strange...how some things
are a complete blur, and somethings so clear...and how that is always
shifting according to mood,setting ect...

I remember I was driving the kids from the boys shelter I worked at
to their different schools when it came on the radio...they went right
to a live feed from NASA or something. It was hard to figure out at
first from the radio what happened. Then we saw the explosion repeated a
few
hundred times on TV that day. I think that was the all day televising
of a national disaster between Reagan being shot and until 9/11.

An event well worth remembering. Thank you.
"Challenger, go at throttle up," Richard Oswalt (*****) Covey radioed
Francis "*****" Scobee.
"Roger, go at throttle up," Scobee calmly replied. Then, suddenly
Michael Smith muttered, "Uh oh."

I was watching it live on CNN and folding baby clothes fresh out of the
dryer. The shuttle exploded right before my eyes. I was devastated. The
image haunted me for weeks afterwards. I will never forget that day.
