I just watched The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and went through a 1/2
a box of Kleenex, if you weren't depressed before the movie you were really
bummed out after....

Yeah i don't know the name of it either, but it looks good. i'm not much
into kidnapping movies, but i like thrillers. i love Jodie Foster. she was
great in Contact.
the second matrix is pretty good. the first is the best, the 2nd is cool,
and the 3rd has some good parts. i got bored of some scenes in the third.

The Jody Foster one is called "Flight Plan" it was an awesome movie. I'm a
movie freak I own about 8k worth of movies, including all the Matrix's, it's
because I don't have a life.... When my hubby and I divorced he took half
of the movies, so we had together like 16k. Damn that's pitiful.

Amazon.co.uk finally gave up on trying to find 'The bicycle thieves' for
me. Time to try Amazon.com

'Available within 24 hours'! UK Amazon is a piece of crap. I really must
get used to exploiting the weakness of the dollar.

dear Alan,
books seem to hit the UK shelves first. for instance, Not Even Wrong will
be available at Amazon UK in March. i have been tempted to order from them.
another book is Road to Reality by Roger Penrose. the US Hardcover is $24,
but the UK has a nice paperback version.

What I was after is a classic Italian film, from 1949 (a classic year -
I was born then :)
A lot of US Sci-fi books were printed on inferior (semi-transparent)
paper, back when I had to have my fix as soon as it was published. Only
a few were printed first in the UK. It must vary from category to
category. Quite a few academic books I could only get in the USA.

Alan,
sorry to hear about the unavailability of your book. i enjoy Amazon. i
often browse the Dover Publications website, then check the price and
reviews at Amazon. it's a good combo. i've identified about 30 potential
books that i want to read. the last non-technical books that i read were 3
Roads to Quantum Gravity and Prime Obsession.
i found a ton of free mathematics books online, and there are a few physics
ones as well.
