Nice, however totally illegal here, and in Europe.
Someone who would put that in a H3 or H4 housing that
it designed for 12V may also elecrocute themselves or
others. Not to mention this will blind some oncoming
drivers. ADR/ECE 77 and 78 define self cleaning and
self leveling for these units. Also, not all those colour
choice would be compliant here.
I guess if you life in the US/Canada FMVS 108
does not have a problem with this.
I would not really consider using them for purely
offroad use on my 4x4. It sometimes gets a drive
though a lot of water. That don't mix well with
the very high voltage needed for the gas discharge
globes.
I once found an Osram kit that I deemed safe as
didn't use the original housings, and was flat
beam so not aimed to the wrong (USA) side
of the road. Both ADR 77 and 78 killed the idea
as it's still non compliant for on road use. Nice
bit of kit though. Many a traffic cop here would
never know, so I sorta considered it, however
the rules here are what they are.

Oh just paint over your crappy old halogen bulbs and block out most of
the range of their spectrum. All the cool kids are doing it.

Not into rice stuff. The Osram stuff I think I could get away
with. Of course, could replace the sealed beam units with
the same type used for Toyota Surf imports which uses
a H4 halogen globe.
I've gotta do something soon.

As long as I've set them up with a relay to prevent current drop I'm
generally happy with stock on all the late model cars. I did take the
housings to get re-finished on my wife's car a few years back. They toss
gravel on the roads here when it snows and they were pretty pitted. Made
a nice difference.
