A sense of obligation |
A man said to the universe:
"Sir, I exist!"
"However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
A sense of obligation."

that's hard to accept... I mean We ARE the universe,
everything is... yet the universe contains struggle and death and
disease and exploitation and violence and greed and on and on and
on... and yet,
it's hard to give up the idea that life should be easier, simpler...
There is no denying that
there are extremly serious problems in the world, there always have
been, and always will be... Can some of the problems be mitigated at
least? that would be really wonderful...

If the rich would give up their strangle-hold on the world's resources
then a lot of the suffering on our planet could be mitigated but of
course they never will, not until it's taken from them by force.

I'm not sure that would solve the problem. The world's real problem
is overpopulation and greed. Those two go hand in hand.
The rich can afford children, however won't breed too many. The
poor breed shiteloads of them in the hope one might actually
turn out usefull. The bunch of them usually turn out bogans,
and the parents collect the child payments (where I am anyway),
and quite frankly I don't want my tax $ going into that, and if
I had a kid, would not claim it. You can either afford kids, and
pay for their proper care/learning/feeding or you can't. That simple.
I'm unsure if us rich folk give money to the poor, the result
might be temporary.
