Object: achievements today
Slept in until 10:30 am
Got up, put on a load of washing
Read ASD
Started to feel angry, agitated etc, thought it was going to be a bad
day. Identified trigger (housemate was playing loud music).
Showered, dressed, put away the clothes strewn all over my bedroom
(which took quite a while, there were a lot of them)
Hung out the washing which was still in the machine.
Went to visit my parents, wished my mum a happy mothers day, spoke on
the phone briefly to my Grandma and sister who both called while I was
there.
Helped my father cook dinner and helped with the dishes afterwards
Drove home
Brought in the washing. Put the things which weren't dry in the dryer.
Ironed the clothes I had picked up off the floor that morning that
needed it.
Vacuumed my bedroom, computer room and lounge room.
Read ASD again
Took the clothes out of the dryer and ironed 2 pairs of pants and put
iron, ironing board etc away.
Checked email and wrote this post
Now I'm going to bed.
Not too bad, considering the way I felt when I first got up this
morning. Looks like one solution to beating the anger and anxiety is to
keep busy for as long as possible. It may not stop the feelings from
coming back, but at least it stalls them for a while.

I got some stuff done today, not a lot. You are doing well. For me
the busy bit tends to sometimes work, sometimes not. Anyway it's
all life.

Hi, Kylie, do you remember John (Maia's
dad)? He once posted that life was
basically a series of errands and if one
made peace with that, life could be
good. That thought has been very
soothing for me but maybe only because
"busy" works for me. Even if it is only
a stalling technique.

Hi, Kylie, do you remember John (Maia's dad)? He once posted that life
was basically a series of errands and if one made peace with that, life
could be good. That thought has been very soothing for me but maybe only
because "busy" works for me. Even if it is only a stalling technique.

Gayle

Keeping busy and having structure in my life is the main thing that
keeps me sane. As much as I want to crawl under the covers and never
come out again, I always feel worse when I indulge. I do much better on
weekdays than I do on weekends, because I have too much unstructured time.
I want my life to be more than a series of errands and tasks. I want to
be able to enjoy my free time. But right now, whatever gets me through
is ok I guess.
John was a good guy, I hope he's doing well.

I think in his last post he said that,
after 10 years in asd, he was ready to
move on.

Wow, my time's almost up, too, then. =8^)
I think part of his withdrawal from ASD was that he got tired of
letting himself be drawn into pointless arguing with idiots who baited
him with ***** personal attacks. John, smart as he was, was just not
the personality type who could say "consider the source" and leave it
at that.
I was in touch with him around a year ago, and he was wonderfully
supportive and encouraging in connection with my suicide prevention
walk (pitch: see http://www.theovernight.org for info about this
year's). As far as I know he's doing well.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, it will be exactly one year to the day hubby & I sailed into
Honolulu Harbor and walked off the cruise ship into John's welcoming arms.
Well, okay, not into his arms, into a warm handshake.
Then he treated us to breakfast, drove us all over Oahu, dropped us off at Pearl
Harbor, met us downtown later, took us to dinner with the family, and finished
it off with a nighttime drive around Waikiki and Diamond Head.
Maia is a wonderful kid, and she has John wrapped around her little finger. And
I think he's perfectly happy to have it that way.
In fact, I think the true reason he doesn't need to be in asd anymore is that he
IS perfectly happy.

Slept in until 10:30 am
Got up, put on a load of washing
Read ASD
Started to feel angry, agitated etc, thought it was going to be a bad
