I bet. I worry about that too with all the discussion about it being
connected to the meds I take. I guess I probably don't lead the
lifestyle I should to help keep it at bay either.
I can't imagine what its like though. Are you able to control it with
meds or do you have to use shots?

I contracted type II diabetes from Depakote toxicity. Right now I treat
it strictly through diet, nutrition and exercise. No meds, no insulin
shots. My BG hovers around high normal (110-120).
However, I've experienced some diabetes-related nerve damage, which has
led to some hair loss, as well as constant pain between the shoulder
blades due to damage to the cardiac nerves. Also, wounds heal more
slowly than they did in the past (playing with a pair of cats every day
leads to scratches once in a while).

There's lots of treatments for peripheral nerve pain nowadays. You
probably already knew that. There's even some books out for
layppl.

Neosporin is my friend. As is hydrogen peroxide.
