hopefully, she doesn't really believe everything she sais, such as
praising Joseph Mccarthy... If she does believe her words, it's really,
really scary...

What's scary about her believing something? Why should anyone be
frightened about what she believes?

she's part of the radical right, people like Hannity, Michael Savage, et
cetera. it would be disconcerting, scary even, if people like that were in
control of the country.
i love listening to conservative (and liberal) radio, because there are many
hosts that are so insane compared to me. i feel damn normal.
it's also fun listening and spotting the logical fallacies.

yes, that Ann is always right, which is what's wrong.... she is way,
way far right... when she turns way to the left, then she will be
right- in the right sense of the word right... but I don't think that
will ever happen... she will always be right, in the wrong sense of the
word...

One particularly charming remark that didn't make it into that article:
"By the way, how do we know their husbands weren't planning to divorce
these harpies? Now that their shelf life is dwindling, they'd better
hurry up and appear in Playboy."
We should invade her home, kill its occupant and convert it to a maggot
farm.

peeking in to see if there was any buzz buzzing about that vile person
named in the subject, what with those recent ***** remarks of hers.
Have I been missing anything good here, lately?

That depends on what you call good. Nothing bad that I can recall. A
fairly safe haven in today's hurly burly. The good fairies are in

Thanks, Charles. They are and they aren't. I'm basically OK though not
without some not-exactly-major but pretty ugly physical and of course
psychiatric problems (duh). I'm up this late now, in fact, because of my
perennial fondness for abusing the Vicodin I get following oral surgery;
it puts some people to sleep but I'll never understand that response
because I could never sleep through the amazing temporary emotional
escape gen-yoo-ine narcotics provide. It's almost worth disgustingly
rotting my way a little closer to death to catch that really nice buzz
every two years or so.
Anyway! Check out the URL in the sig; the Big Anti-Suicide Walkie is
coming up Real Soon Now; there's a pre-walk shorter walk this weekend
that I might do, assuming I'm done Viking by then. (Note to self: I
really should do that.) Fundraising-wise, I'm almost at the 2K mark,
largely thanks to the generosity a few really nice people and the
invaluable assistance of the Amazing Minske, and I am really really
looking forward to that Overnight. It's hard to imagine what it will be
like, it's such a weird thing to be doing. I'm quite sure it's going to
be emotionally overwhelming at the very least and possibly even some
sort of life-changing at the very most. And maybe even life-saving, now
wouldn't that be kewl.
Hope you're well, too, my good man.

Take it easy... yes, of course we should go on crusades to kill people who
say things we don't like. But we have our hands full right now with Arabs.

I wouldn't call what Ann Coulter does entertainment. She represents
herself as a journalist (which is as hilarious as criticizing others for
being self-obsessed). I also wouldn't say she does what she does because
she has to.

I see her as just a variant of Jerry Springer, serving up emotional
violence as sport. The whole journalistic/political angle actually
strikes me as irrelevant. Being "Ms. Right" gets her coverage in the
mainstream media and a prima facie legitimacy as "political pundit", but
really, isn't it all about the hate? You could bleep out all the
references to "liberals" and such and and you'd still be left with the
Essential Ann: a nasty piece of work who really gets off on mocking and
insulting people. If this latest episode doesn't make that totally
fucking obvious I don't know what could. I mean, Jesus Christ, her
suggesting that these women's dead husbands probably wanted to divorce
them is actually supposed to be some sort of political commentary on
liberalism and the media?
