Anyone else have posting limitations? |
This stupid site cut me off at 180 posts today! How the heck do some
of you post so many times without getting cut off?

If you get a real news-reader, and subscribe to a news-server (some are
free), you shouldn't have any problems. Mind you, 180 posts seems a lot
to someone shy and retiring like me.

just be what I feel like saying right now, okay?

I have no idea how to even do that much. I guess I can try to get my
husband to help me.

Hey Jennie, your ISP probably has it's own news server, quite a lot of
them do. The details will be on their website with the details of their
email server.
Do you use Outlook Express (Windows Mail in Vista) to access your email?
Even if you don't, if you run Windows you're sure to have that
program on your computer. Set up an account on OE but nominate that
it's a news account, not an email account. Then choose which groups you
want to subscribe too and post away.
(That's probably a very simple explanation but it's late and I'm not
thinking clearly enough to write in more detail. If you're interested
and want more info, post again or email me - just remove the NOSPAM from
the email address)
By posting via a news server rather than google groups, you can choose
to block (killfile) posts from people you'd rather not read, which can
be handy.

Slunky can almost certainly talk you though it.

AFAIK my ISP doesn't. Deja (Google Groups) is notorious for
it. Suggest go to ISP and get news settings, and install
Mozilla Thunderbird.

I've thought about writing a walkthrough to setting up a free newsserver
and newsreader. I just haven't been able to sit down and bang one out.
Now that I'm on different meds, I'll give it a try. Maybe today if I get
bored enough.

invite yourself to a new gmail account. Then choose a similar name,
like the same one you have with a 1 or 2 or 3 after it. You can have
as many accts as you like. They always cut me off too, but I'm not
drinking tonight, so I'll probably stay me.

Use a real newsreader and post directly to usenet, avoid GoogleGroups.
