The UK as well as some other European countries have already taken steps to
regulate and in some cases ban certain food colours such as e102 Tartrazine
(yellow) http://www.ukfoodguide.net/e102.htm from being added to sweets and
snacks, especially those aimed at children. e102 Tartrazine was found to be
carcinogenic and caused hyperactivity.
If I ever eat anything that contains Annatto e160b (smoked fish, sausages,
crisps and cheese) http://www.ukfoodguide.net/e160b.htm I'll start to react
immediately. It begins with a drugged sensation (disorientation and dopiness)
followed by nausea and sleep.
I have a relation who works as an analytical chemist. She recently tested a
batch of pure orange juice only to discover that one of the major UK stores
is selling freshly squeezed OJ (100% no added ingredients) with e102 added.

Years ago a guy told me that dye chemicals are added to 'fresh' oranges by
pressurizing them with gas and vapours.
