He's been sharpening his teeth on the spring that holds one of my
octopuses. Then he knocked the phone onto the floor. It could be a long
day.

I'm still stuck on the part where you have multiple octopuses.

Doesn't everyone have at least two?

Uh...adding to shopping list, two octopuses!
Does Artois show his interest in whatever you're doing by chewing on it?
Shelly the Belly does that with everything I hold the moment we get into
bed. Well, I get into bed, she tries but I keep her on the top of the
covers. She's still lethal to feet and legs if they move a scintilla once
she's under there; she fancies herself some species of feline shark.
There is never an Artois post I don't love.

It could be a long day.

My cat did things like that two nights in a row to try to get me
to wake up and pay attention to him. Long nights.
You have multiple octopuses? Yay! Someone near here makes
beautiful glass ones. I wish I could buy one, but it would never
survive in this house.

You could dangle it from the ceiling. As long as no one has a BB gun...

We have high ceilings: nine foot on the first floor, and higher on the
ground floor. Short swords or short boys would solve the problem.

Wow, they are high. Ours are standard for new contstruction, 7
and a half or something like that. 6'1" Michael can easily
touch them. They aren't supposed to do swordplay indoors, but
somehow we've lost a couple of light fixtures.

This morning he kept throwing himself through the air at my hand and
biting me. Real bites - I have the puncture marks to show for it. I'd
rather lose my phone than have a cat's mouth under my skin. I haven't
stroked him since. I'm not sure he's noticed.
