a father who is a doctor (oh yeah, right) tosses his two sons, 4 year old
and 8 year old, over a 15 story hotel balcony, and then jumped himself. All
three are of course, dead. The wife/mother was there, left behind, now
living with this sudden and beyond-words horrible tragedy. And things
continue to get worse in the world. be it things that happen that don't
effect us directly, or the things that do effect us directly. I hate to say
this, but I don't really even feel sad about it. i'm so used to bad things
happening in the world, that this is just "another shitty thing. oh well"
.........I don't mean to be heartless.

Add to this news is a story from Houston that a recent
traffic accident is now thought to be intentional. Five people
died when a truck hit a semi head on. The semi driver lived.
It seems the 15 year old step daughter of the truck driver
was about to come forward that her stepdad was sexually
molesting her. So he's a pervert and a coward but takes
four other innocent guys with him.
Also in the news a baby was shot while lying in a crib. Victim
of a drive by shooting.
Does anyone remember the comic strip Bloom County?

How much can anybody really feel about everything bad in the world? It's
too much for any single person to handle.

Yeah, over the years I have blocked out so much of the emotions
that humans are supposed to feel because I was overwhelmed.
Now, when I don't feel anything about so many things I wonder
if I still am human.

Myron

I've blocked out so much too -- but not the personal stuff, just the "world"
stuff.
but Myron, you are definitally still human. no shame in blocking out
emotions the overwhelm you.

Rationally, you're right. OTOH, we're loonies, we can feel bad about
anything and everything. If your lucky, you feel angry instead of sad.

Sorry you're having a rough night. Not too good to dwell on things,
maybe you could watch for more positive things happening.

thanks David, wasn't having a bad night really. indeed its not good to
dwell on the shitty things. its easy to forget about the stuff that does not
direcly effect,
but as far as shitty things that have happened in one's own life, it's very
difficult not to dwell on those.
