bi-polar? |
Hi there
My doctor told me last week that he thinks I'm bi-polar. I have no idea
what that really means, except for the brief description he gave me which
was basically that bi-polar people swing higher and lower with their ups &
downs than other people.
He's given me some pills to take, and has sent me off to see someone in a
couple of months.
I'm a little confused, I don't really know what to expect, or even
understand why I could be this way. Can anyone tell me what might happen
when I go to see this other doctor? (She's a psychologist or a
psychiatrist, I can't remember which). I feel a bit bewildered by the whole
thing as it wasn't why I went to see the doctor in the first place.

That's normal. That time is to get you 'stabilized' on the medication.

The other doctor should be a psychiatrist. They're better trained at
assessing how a treatment is going. They can also suggest other ones that
regular doctors might not think of.

Maybe you told the doctor something that indicated bipolar.
