Object: Birdsong and Xmas carols
As many of you may know (unless you have me killfiled, that is) share my home
with a parrot. A cockatoo, no less. (RGB has a cockatoo or three or four or
five, but that's a whole other story. If you're really *really* nice to him he
might explain...)
And as many of you also may know, for a couple of years I took piano lessons,
and can now pecK (verb chosen to fit the theme of the post) out some simple
melodies on the piano.
So, because Xmas is coming, I have (as I am wont to do) been playing The Little
Drummer Boid. Yes, you read that correctly. Jester the Bare-eyed Cockatoo has
been helping me with the rhythm section of this familiar carol.
I play the "Come they told me" part and he does the "pa-rum-pum-pum" bit. A
duet. I think it's funny, and he seems to enjoy it. Earlier he was walking on
the keyboard, pecking the "pa-rum-pum-pum" out on the keys. He also can click
his beak to the rhythm, squawk it (sorry, dawggie!), and so on.
If we ever get good enough at this, I promise to post the video to Youtube. The
weakest link in this particular chain isn't the bird, I promise. It's my
so-called pianistic skills that are lacking. How will we get to Carnegie Hall?
Practise, practise, practise.
Gawd I love my avian beast!

She's not in my killfile, she has never been in my killfile and she's not going

afraid your suggestion isn't going to fix the problem.
I wonder if there is filtering going on at the newsserver level. After the

(maybe it was you, Jean?) mentioning recently that aieo is also dropping posts.

That was me. I was also using aioe and I've been missing Cindy's posts
for a month or so now, and %'s recently too.
My ISP has just started providing a premium news service again so I'm
now using that. It dropped it's news service last year and got flooded
with complaints (especially from me). Now I can get the full Supernews
feed for free (apart from my monthly ISP charge, but no extra) which is
pretty great! No more missed posts.

Hmmmm. slunky says it drops posts because it's known as a spam haven. Maybe they
have a policy governing the maximum number of posts from a specific poster. (But
then slunky wouldn't show up.) Maybe they drop posts from anyone @nowhere.com.
Those cindy posts show up on videotron, but not here.

I have Agent in 2 locations on my system, so I just checked out the videotron
feed. It's still *****-poor. I looked at the birdwatching group I frequent, and
I'd say there were perhaps 25-30% of the posts I got through aieo.
So either way I'm getting only a part of the picture. I guess I'm going to have
to read asd twice, once for each feed. Kinda like Real Life [TM], where you have
to get your news from multiple sources to make sure you're getting the whole
story.

Hmm, not me but I wonder if there is some weird killfile thing still
happening, either with them or with you - I've accidentally killfiled
people in the past.
Must say I like Thunderbird for this reason: I can killfile Poster D
(hopefully there are no other posters named D) - it deletes 'em all, no

and can now pecK (verb chosen to fit the theme of the post) out some simple
melodies on the piano.
