The school concert, that is. Middle school only, band and
chorus, the whole thing lasted less than an hour. Considering
that some of the band members have played less than a year with
no lessons, short was good.

Thankfully, not.
The school had somebody videotape it. I have no idea what
they'll do with the tape.

You could've snuck in some equipment and made yourself a tidy sum
selling bootlegs.

No lessons? What is this, the Musicman?

No lessons? What is this, the Musicman?

It's a very small school, and anyone who signed up before middle
school started that they wanted to learn an instrument, whether
they currently played or not, was drafted into band. Michael's
gotten better through the year and the pieces were very easy,
but he never practices and I bet that's true of half the band.
It was very much like the Musicman might have been if they
played two or three times a week for 8 months with no instructor
but the conductor.

At least they won't rape, rob and kill anybody when they play the music.
Maybe the music is *really* bad, but they'll get better with time. And
if it gets really bad, there's always the reusable earplugs:

Not so. Have you ever heard anyone trying to learn the bagpipes? Like
putting a cat through a mangle backwards! ;o)

Haha! My cousin tried to learn bagpipes in high school. It was

Clarinet's worse than recorder, I think. Daniel recently
graduated from the latter to the former.
Michael plays french horn in the band. At least that doesn't
squeak when he misses a note.

I read your intro post, Kez, and welcome
to asd. You've added to the UKers
presence here so maybe they'll win the
annual asd football game this time.
