Sorry to be such a pain, but how do you block people on this so you don't
have to put up with their offensive drivel? I read this through OE if that
helps
Thanks.

I use OE too. The way I do it is to go up to Message & then Message Rules. I
create one that says to delete all messages from said sender.

Hi NZ,
Open the message and click on the "Message" menu item at the top of the
form. Then select "Block Sender".
If you do this, don't announce it on the newsgroup.

And also be careful, with the resident troll who uses the legitimate
addresses of other users, you can sometimes inadvertantly block friends as
well as trolls.
Unless anyone can tell me how to block the fakes and not the real.

I wish I knew mate. At least it gives us practice in determining what is
worth reacting to and what isn't.

The key word is "filters". I use Netscape 7 and it is easy to set
up. I think OE is similar. Just look for filters.

I use Forte Agent for my newsreader. The paid-for version, not the
free version. THe free version doesn't have
blocking/filtering/killfiling in it, last I knew. I've used this
browser for something like 7 years now and I'm generally still happy
with it.

There are other newsreaders that have killfiles, but I don't know
anything about them. And I don't know if OE does either.
