Just got a knock on the door at 7:15pm! Some guy wanting us to change
phone companies. I let him talk for ten minutes, giving me all the
options, then told him I wasn't interested :)
The guy was nice enough, I'm sure he got doors slammed in his face all
day. That job would totally suck.
A woman selling something over the phone, said to me "How are you?" I
said "I'm O.K., how are you?" She said "Nobody's ever asked me that
before." That is how bad it gets. I told her that I wasn't going to buy
from her, but I would respect her as a human being, just doing her job. So
many people think that she is employed by the company she is selling for.
Australia has just started a register where, if we don't want those phone
calls, we can list our number on a blacklist. It doesn't stop charities.
The marketers have the updates within 24 hours, but in practice, it takes
about a month for them to observe them.
