Tomorrow night. I wonder if I'll make this concert.

Yesterday was a very bad day - external events with mood following them.
Getting to see Ms Raitt was the only good thing (we were late setting
off, got unusually lost in Manchester, and missed the support, which
Bonnie said several times was variations of awesome), but we saw all her
performance, which was, after all, what we went for. I only burst into
tears once.

i'm glad you got to see the concert, anyway. i know you were
looking forward to it. i'm impressed that after a rough day, you
were able to push yourself to get out and see it.

I missed the bit about having to take our car off the road because it
failed it's MOT, and it would cost four times the value of the car (in
roadworthy condition) to have the repairs it needs to be get it back on
the road. Now I'll probably have to pay to get rid of it.

even if there's nothing useful on the car, here there's
usually someplace that will pay for the metal. otherwise,
they'll tow it away for nothing for parts and scrap.

Apparently, wrecking yards make you pay for them to take it away and
make a profit from it - the engine's perfect, and it has five good
tyres, if nothing else. I'll probably advertise it on eBay as spares or
repair. It'll make some people slaver at the prospect of the work it
needs.

we have what's left of a '67 mercedes in our driveway. joe
wants to sell instruments, etc from it. the interior's still
near perfect, though the exterior is completely rotten and
becoming one with the soil. we also have a '93 jeep with a
dead transmission joe wants to advertise as a parts car. maybe
someday these things will be out of our driveway...

This is a '92 GM Cavalier, and it's lurking, taking up space in the
garage, where we want to keep the little car.
