Object: bored
i feel like a kid in a room full of toys with nothing to do.
tired of usenet.
no patience to read.
played all my computer games too many times.
it's raining, so i don't want to go out.
left-handed housework is a real pain in the butt.
so is writing a long email to a penpal.
already spent too much time in my kaleidoscopes yesterday.
bleh.

Do you read much Clive Barker? He is more dark - as in gore - fantasy <the
good kind not wizards or unicorns> than science fiction but seems to have
fallen into both genres. If not you should read "Weaveworld" and "The
Damnation Tree" It's really unique stuff. "Jumper" by Steven C. Gould is
good too.

'glinky' by ray vukcevich. very short story. it's a nebula
contender, but i'm not sure why. fictionwise has a whole bunch
of short stories and novelettes that are contenders for free
as e-books right now. i also have the novel 'enchantment' by
orson scott card waiting to be read. i don't know how it's
rated, but he's one of my favorite authors. wins literary
awards, not just sf awards, and has wonderful character
development. if you haven't read 'ender's game', you probably
should. he also wrote a short story that makes me cry every
time i read it, and i'm not a cryer.
