Boring shots |
x-no-archive: yes
Or perhaps I should say, shots out of boredom.
I just *hate* the way I look in pictures, and even taking pictures of
myself, so consider this as a great honour: finally you will be
granted that which will give a meaning to your otherwise meaningless
existance: contemplation of my face.
Sexual arousal not guaranteed.
Oh, and for all you pet lovers out there, one specially for you.
http://www.neoholistic.org/David_con_perros.jpg (284K)
My brother at my father's, with my dog, my father's dog (used to be my
mother's but she couldn't take care of her any more) and another,
er... pet. Sort of.
(My brother hasn't given me his consentment to publish his photograph,
that's why you can't see his face).
http://www.neoholistic.org/Espejo1.jpg (183K)
Yes, well, it's unfocused and too dark. I hate the flash reflecting on
mirrors.
No, I don't usually wear a three-days-old beard. I was only being
lazy.
http://www.neoholistic.org/Autorretrato_flash.jpg (200K)
Better lit (flash), better focused. Not much more to say. Shot in my
bathroom. Fascinating. Hey, you were bored already if you read so far.
Yes, I know. I already said I was nothing exciting to look at. So sue
me.
As usual, will be erased in three days. If anyone does download any of
them, please delete them after you've seen them. Thanks.

Funny, you don't look like Spanish is your first language. ;)

I don't? <Frown>
I'm not sure I'm following you. You mean the way I write in english? Here I've got time to think before I write. Real time conversations, well, that's a different story! ;)
Unless it's my pictures what you mean. Actually I look very spanish (or mediterranean, you can't tell a spaniard, a portuguese, and italian or a greek just by their looks). Maybe you're a bit confused by the fact that hispanics in America are a blend of native american and southern european (fortunately). But that mixing comes in a full spectrum, from 'pure' (sic) indian to 'pure' (sic, again) european. It's just that in the time of the colony the spaniards/portuguese were a *very* racist society, so the more native blood you had, the lower the class you belonged to (yes, very sad, but that's how things were back then). That's why most poor people there are natives or 'mestizos' (mixed native/spanish), while mid/upper-mid/high class people are usually descendants of europeans (mostly spanish, but also from many other places).
If you want to know what spanish people look like, take a look at this:
http://trstrs.netfirms.com/1.htm
This is what you would see in any street over here (in the winter - we tan *very* well, so in the summer many of us turn quite darker ;)).

Thanks Daniel for the info, but I was just teasing you a tad bit. Of
course you don't look like Spanish is your native tongue any more than I
look like English is mine.

Oh, silly me! I misunderstood you. Sometimes I'm just thick... ;)
BTW, I wouldn't mind seeing what some of you people look like (though
many
of you might want to protect your intimacy). Jpegs, anyone?

I'm not sure that's the currently maintained site, but it has a lot of

Thankyou. I only recognise some nicks there, but then again I'm fairly new here.

Huh? You mean I'm not?
(Just kidding)
Thanks! :)
Actually I didn't mean to post them. I was really bored and in a terrible mood last night, and anything seemed preferable to going to bed, so I just decided to upload them to my webspace.
But I think the one with the dogs is good...

You've got that Antonio Banderas look, which is fine by itself,
but a smile will make it irresistable.

Not that I think I look like him at all, but most of us southerners have a darker skin/eyes tone which usually identifies us (compared to the normally quite paler people from the north).

I studied medieval history in university, and Spain was
definitely one of the centres of learning during that period. Its
special influence was due mainly to the fact that the different
cultures were able to blend for so many centuries in a relatively
isolated region.
It's a pity it all had to end with Los Reyes Catolicos.

Certainly. Especially because the Muslims had a very tolerant and
forward-
thinking society back then, compared to the retrogade Christians. I
wonder
how Muslim societies would have evolved if Al Andalus had been allowed
to
continue to exist, or if the Sacred Inquisition would have existed at
all.
I also wonder if other countries would have expelled the Jews from their
frontiers if they hadn't had an example to follow... too many 'what
ifs',
probably, but European (and later woldwide) history could have been very
different in quite a few ways.

I prefer cats, or rather I feel closer to their independent, feline
personalities.
But dogs give you a kind of love and devotion that you simply can't find
anywhere else.
I'm constantly worried for mine. When he dies (and that will happen
soon) I'm
going to be brokenhearted. He's been with me since 91, I'm going to miss
him
for a long, long time...

The pain will go away, leaving the good memories. But it hurts
