I'm thinking of having one done myself.
I've had one of those done but that was more than 5 years ago I think. At
the time, my calcium score put me in the high risk category with significant
calcification present. That was one of the justifications I used to get a
cardiac catheterization done.
The catheterization gave me a clean bill of health at the time, so I have
concerns about just how accurate and worthwhile those scans are. I think
it's a useful piece of information to have, but I'm just not sure how much
it can be relied on.
Thanks Bacon.
Bruce.

Same thing with my Dad...they called it a false positive, he went in
for additional tests and was okay, well some blockage but expected for
his age. It does sound like a scam kind of.

At the time I got mine it was very controversial and not generally accepted
by the medical industry as worth doing, but I haven't followed it since so
I'm not sure how it's viewed today.
One of the local hospitals spent a fortune on the machine and then started a
direct mailing campaign for the procedure. I must have gotten a couple
hundred of those ads in the mail. They were really pushing the procedure
hard.
