That's a GOOD thing. Crying is a sign of weakness.

Huh.
You must be one of those trolls Heather was referring to.
And I fell for the bait post. Well, ain't my face red?

Yes, I see. I post something honest (my inability to cry), you post that
crying is a sign of weakness and I am a troll. Okay. What exactly do you
consider a troll? Your response to my original post seemed rather immature
(crying means you are weak). I am sorry if that is how I see it. But it
makes me a troll? Whatever.

WTF?! The plonk didn't work. This ***** still showed up. Worked for everyone
else. Hmm ... ?
Well, I'm here anyway, so I'll respond.
GROW UP!
You're acting like a child. You ignore your own behavior entirely.
Here's what happened:
1. You posted something honest (your inability to cry.)
2. I responded honestly: that I think crying is a sign of weakness.
3. You said what I wrote was stupid (and that most everything else I write
is stupid.)
4. I called you a troll (because you sure are acting like one.)
You see, in YOUR summary, you conveniently ignored the fact that you said
what I wrote was stupid. Take some responsibility for your own actions in
the future. How would you have liked it if I left out the fourth step from
MY summary? That would have seemed rather childish too, wouldn't it? If you
disagreed with my feeling that crying is a sign of weakness, then maybe you
could have written why you disagreed, rather than just flaming away.

Okay, you are right. My response to you was unreasonable (I will admit to
being a little edgy lately, and overly blunt, not that that is an excuse for
low blows) However, I am not sure that I agree that crying is a sign of
weakness. In fact, I would find that, since to many people, it is a sign of
weakness, the ability to cry would be a sign of strength. I do not feel that
the ability to show vulnerability states strength over the fear of what
people will think of you if they perceive you as weak, unstable, or not
together. Did you write that post on punching someone (I think it was you).
I think that acting out violently is much more a sign of weakness than
crying is. If you need to use physical force to show how strong and together
you are...isn't it a sign that you aren't really strong or together? So,
then, my question to you: Why is crying a sign of weakness and do you feel
that acting out violently is a sign of strength (emotional strength, not
physical)?
If I acted like a troll earlier I apologize. There is a good deal of *****
in my nature. I am trying to deal with that.

But crying inherently means that something got to you. That can only
occur if you were weak. I guess I see your point, that it takes more
strength to let it out and let people see you cry than to keep it
hidden, afraid of what popular opinion might say of your crying, but if
you're strong enough to not be compelled to cry in the first place, it's
a moot point.
Did you write that
post on punching someone (I think it was you).
Yes, that was me. It was just a slap. not nearly as bad as what my
parents did to me as a kid, but then it's OK to hit children.
I think that acting out
violently is much more a sign of weakness than crying is.
No, it's not. Used to be, I'd vent my frustrations either by muttering a
stream of curses, or occasionally destroying some inanimate object.
Either way, my parents would shout at me for doing so and tell me to
"grow up." Then I understood that they didn't see me as "grown up"
because I wasn't expressing my anger/frustration to them as they did to
me: by hurting them. This was my first venture into adulthood.
If you need
to use physical force to show how strong and together you are...isn't
it a sign that you aren't really strong or together? So, then, my
question to you: Why is crying a sign of weakness and do you feel
that acting out violently is a sign of strength (emotional strength,
not physical)?
I address crying earlier.
As for acting violent? Hey, it was how I was raised, and THIS time my
parents didn't tell me I was being childish, so yes, I do believe
violence is a sign of strength. I finally got some respect for it.
If I acted like a troll earlier I apologize. There is a good deal of
***** in my nature. I am trying to deal with that.
Hey, I know what it's like. Apology accepted.
