Different times |
Some girls got in a lot of trouble at a school here today. They made a
joke hit list, and now they're facing federal charges, but when I was in
junior high, and I got caught with a hit list I didn't get in any
trouble at all.

when i was in school ,
no one even thought about a hit list ,
we just pounded who we didn't like ,
or got pounded by who didn't like us ,
no weapons , no threats , no e-mails ,
just outside in the yard after school
.

no one even thought about a hit list ,
we just pounded who we didn't like ,
or got pounded by who didn't like us ,
no weapons , no threats , no e-mails ,
just outside in the yard after school
We just smoked pot and remained peaceful

and I got in fights like that in school. Dishing it out and getting my
share in return from other kids, but the janitor was a big guy and that
would take some planning to pay him back for ratting on me.

i never thought about that kind of revenge ,
until i was about 30 ,
and i knew they'd be in their 60's ,
even then i couldn't do it ,
but i reminded them of the time ,
and said isn't it funny how time changes things
.
