I've been having problems with shoes and I was sitting looking at my
feet and thought, "my toes look bigger" and I just wondered if it was
one of those things they don't tell you about but everybody knows but
not until it happens to them, like how (speaking for men) as you age
you grow hair from places there didn't used to be any. I just thought,
hairy ears, longer toes? Made sense at the time. But then I realised
that if that were the case everybody over the age of 60 would be
walking around in clown shoes and while that's a wonderful mental
image I've yet to see any evidence of it.

I know that as we age our feet get wider (spread). Probably due to the same
reasons everything either spreads or sags or swells as we get older.

My feet grew a half size because my arches flattened somewhat
with time.

I get terrible pain in my left big toe, on the left side of it. It's
my nail growing into the edge, and I can actually feel it growing,
seconds at a time in bed.
So last night, I took a hot bath, then used the implements of
destruction, and after softening it up, I got in there and sliced that
baby back.
Ingrown nail, worse in the cold.
Some things do grow longer....ear lobes. That Bono, he got some
lobes. I got my father's ears, the Spencer Tracey Lobes. The old man
looked like him. So Bono cheers me up when he pierces them, no less,
and draws attention to them. I am growing my winter hat, so they will
disappear soon.
But don't fear....I can tell you with authority that at 87, that big
johnson is still that big johnson.

I get ingrown toe nails too if I let them get too short, then they'll
regrow and slice along the side while doing so. It's been a lifelong
curse, but that' just how the toenails like things.
My "cure" has been: lots of soaking, keep things clean and sterile (just
getting the pressure of that puss and stuff out helps a lot). Then smear
the hell out of the whole area with neosporin and bandage it up.
Literally keep it swimming in antibiotic ointment - it will keep the
area soft like a soak would and keeps things clean. I've found this to
shorten things by about 3/4 of the usual time doing "not much".
