not the alcohol as much as what else is added ,
alcohol alone is pretty much sugar free ,
most liquor stores in Canada ,
have a pamphlet you can use as a guide ,
it shows you how much sugar is in the different products ,
but even with all that in mind ,
no , diabetics should not drink any alcohol ,
because of the other stresses it can put on the liver and kidneys

I'd be kicking your cute ***** if I was the woman you lived with. Which is likely
why I'm not the woman you live with. But still.
I worry.

As do I. I'm glad you have the woman you live with to give you a good kick
in the butt when needed even if it doesn't help. I used to drink alot.
Wasn't an alcohol but did a lot of binge drinking for a short period of
time. Various things associated w/ that lead me to stop drinking
altogether. It's been tough. I can't imagine what it would be for someone
who is actually addicted and has been for some time. I suspect my sister is
an alcoholic but I live so far away that I don't know for sure. I worry but
I don't know what to do in that situation and feel quite helpless.

Dear %,
I posted earlier regarding the possibility of going to detox if you are
a heavy drinker, but Google had a server error and lost my post.
Detox doesn't have the stigma attached to it that a lot of the psych
stuff still does. Alc. is addictive and available over the counter, so
it isn't any wonder that a lot of people need detox.
Re. AA, a recovered alcoholic I spoke with many years ago felt as you
do. He made reference to a part of the AA approach to ending
comsumption which included the acceptance that one was powerless over
alcohol. Though he knew that he was addicted, he did not agree with
this statement. Apparently (at least in his case), he was correct.
I don't know how he lost the habit, but I'll bet he succeeded with the
help of a plan. If you don't have one, now would be an excellent time
to develop one. Should you fail in the execution of your plan, either
try again, or formulate another approach.
If you are short of ideas, I doubt anyone here will gripe if you
request some...
This is important, %. I once admitted to the doctor that I hadn't
followed his instructions regarding treatment of my athsma (Instead of
generic albuterol which costs only a few dollars more, I had been using
Primatene Mist, which is available over the counter, but can be
dangerous because of its affects on the heart and blood pressure). He
was about 35, wore glasses, had a ponytail, and was sharp as can be.
I could tell my cavalier attitude disappointed and saddened him. "Hey,
Man." he said quietly. "This is your health we're talking about."
I was reminded then that our bodies are fragile, and a gift.
Depression does not change that.
With Affection, and All Due Respect,
Patience

it's a simple sugar, and your body knows it's sugary

The carbohydrate content varies greatly among beverage types. For example, whiskey, cognac, and vodka contain no sugars; red and
dry ...

do you see the part where it says , " contain no sugar ? "
well that means the alcohol has no sugar in it but like i said ,
with some types of alcohol beverages the added contents may increase the amount of sugar in a drink , not the alcohol

Alcohols and sugars are different categories of organic
chemicals. Simple sugars are glucose and fructose. More
complex sugars are like sucrose with two glucoses chained
together. They are a subset of carbohydrates which include
the larger molecules of starch and cellulose.
http://www.nyu.edu/pages/mathmol/library/sugars/index.html
Alcohol is a class of organic compounds which include
methanol (one carbon), the kind we drink: ethanol (two
carbons), isopropyl alcohol (three carbons with the
Oxygen-Hydrogen group on the middle of those three
chained carbons, etc.
