Object: Effects of fasting once a week
I've read in many places that fasting helps clean out body organs, but have yet
to see an agreement on whether or not it is good for weight loss. I suppose if
you fasted long enough such that it wouldn't matter if you overeat, then yes,
but the majority of fasters would probably not meet this condition. Any other
ideas?

weight loss ? , no sugar , a med for cholesterol ,
a small exercise program , I lost 50 pounds in six months ,
I have ten more to go and I'll be 180 pounds where I should be ,
it wasn't very hard except these last ten pounds , but ... what a
difference ,
not in just appearance , but walking , bending , lifting , all of my
movement ,
its not a chore anymore

<nodding in agreement>
and I now take NO pain pills for my osteoarthritic hip, not even OTC
ones.
Who would have thought 50 pounds could make such a difference to my
health!

First you pretend to eat 100,000 calories a day, now you want us to
believe you're fasting to death. Have you ever considered a diet of
foads. Good troll food.

This year's most fashionable gift, a goat. You pay for it, and it gets
delivered to a needy family in the Third World.
Donkeys are good too - they can make the difference between life and
death to a farmer - ploughing many more times as much land with a
donkey-drawn simple plough (instructions on how to make them are part of
the package) than with a hand plough.
I've not heard of sheep being included in deals like this.

That's a shame because we have loads of sheep. Okay, a few are
emotionally damaged and some are committed to long term
relationships with farmers but there are a few unaffected ones,
hiding out in the bush.
Seriously, it sounds like a great idea.

Here in Australia the Aussies make sheep jokes about Kiwis.
I had assumed the only people in NZ making sheep jokes about New
Zealanders would be Aussies, but it seems even the locals make sheep
jokes about Kiwis?
So there must be an element of truth to them?

I once dated a Kiwi. He told me a kangaroo joke about an Aussie.
Then he poked me with his beak.
In light of that experience, it seems to me that Glenn's joke was
a sheep joke about sheep.

Glenn's certainly given the impression his wife isn't at all sheepish.

World Vision includes lambs in their package. Also, chickens,
which come in a set of two hens and one rooster. I guess that's
the answer to the age-old question (which comes first...).
My favourite gift, though, is the fish farm: a group of four
families is provided with instruction, tools, and fingerlings.
