Effexor: Getting off overnight, symptoms for 3+ weeks ... |
When you stop taken the medication cold turkey, then suffer from the side
effects for three weeks, what do you do next? Get back on Effexor again
and then taper off? Any help is appreciated

You must taper off effexor and it can take months, with the care of a
psychiatrist. He can give you another med to help you wean off effexor
(forget which one). Here is a link to some info about effexor and others
experiences. Good luck.

Sounds like a good idea. Tapering is definitely preferable to
an abrupt stop. Does the prescribing physician know you are
stopping?

Effexor is bad when you stop taking it. The side effects of quitting cold
turkey were with me for days before I got back on it then when I stopped
taking it again I tapered off over 2 or 3 weeks and it was ok.
