effexor xl (uk) |
been on these for 9month, gradually reduced from 150mg day to 35mg,
came off them completely 3 days ago.
having a horrific electric shock brain/body disorientation type thing,
which is absolute hell on earth.
Does anyone know how long this withdrawl/side effect lasts for after
stoping.
I am seriously contemplating going back to my (great) Doctor to re
establish taking them just to stop these horrible effects of stopping.
ANY help would and will be GREATLY appreciated.!!!!
Best regards
Andrew..

i was much better after a couple of weeks. it took a couple of
months until the restlessness subsided. silly putty helped for
that, kept my hands busy with something. i came off the -xr over
a ten day period, though, not recommended. how slow was your
taper?

Sounds as though you need to lengthen the withdrawal process. I have
this to look forward to, but I do know that each person tends to react
differently. Go back to yur GP.
Welcome to ASD :))

Slooow withdrawal...
I went nuts thinking my PC fans were dying and that my speakers were getting
RF interference, it took me a while to realize that all the strange sounds
were make believe. I don't recall how long it took to withdrawal (in fact
it's amazing how little I remember from 2001-2002) but at the end I was
splitting the 37.5mg pills into 3 and mixing the little balls into
applesauce.

You need to wean off it completely over many months under a psychiatrists
care......and perhaps with the help of another medication. I have been
through this...and I went back on it because I trued stopping the med too
fast and got the symtpoms you describe. Im going to go back to a
psychiatrist and see what he says. Lots of info on the web and also in
newsgroups which you can search through google.com's groups.
