Emotional Freedom Technique |
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a meridian based technique that
has been sweeping the world of therapy for nearly twenty years.
Developed by Gary Craig, a performance coach, engineer and ordained
minister, it has been successfully applied to countless cases for
issues such as anxiety, fears and phobias, trauma, addictions, stress
and pain.
EFT is a technique that works directly on the body's energy system to
correct disruptions that cause negative emotions. It involves gently
tapping on specific meridian points on the face, body and hands, while
focussing on the problem.

Hmmm, might not work for everyone.
But its Chinese medicine over 5,000 years old that has been "sweeping
the world of therapy for nearly twenty years!" What more proof could
you possibly require? Thats the meridian of it - you see if you don't
understand it, then it must work. It must work for everyone, otherwise
it couldn't be both so old and so new at the same time. Any "new"
discovery thats 5,000 years old must be worth a few bucks to buy.

this doesn't sound crazy to me at all. All life is is the exchange
of energy . It follows that if you can control the energy you can
feel better. this is a interesting idea. I know these things
are happening. I know that logically I should be able to use
techniques to feel better. Still it is like there is this wall and
its killing me. sigh, JILL

A "meridian" based technique? I see, so this technique passes through
the north and south poles along an imaginary line. Or, maybe you mean
tapping on specific highest astronomical points on the face?
The hallmark of a charlatan is their desire to redefine words to suit

Well, it is used to describe the pathways along which the body's vital

I think it would only work for folks that believe it will.
I'll add as a disclaimer, I've never tried it.
Fixed a unit for a vet that tried it on animals, I don't

Oh, no problem. Thanks for that though. My initial reaction was much like
your own. It sounded more space age than new age, but given that
acupuncture is a meridian based (dare I say science) which seems to have
proven itself for so many people, some of whom swear by it, I was open to
the idea that there might be something more to this than meets the eye.
Easy for me to say though, given that I prefer someone else to spend a whack
of cash on these things, then tell me whether or not they work. Of course
this applies to a lot of things...like Windows Vista. <g>

Years ago when I got migraines I tried the accupuncture/accupressure
thing. It didn't work for the migraines. But, I still know a couple of
accupressure points that seem to alleviate headaches.
I love Vista! But, although I did an upgrade, my advice is DO NOT do
an upgrade! Wait to get it on your next new computer. The upgrade is
not for the faint of heart and requires you really, really know what
you are doing. I wrote everything down and everything I did during the
upgrade. If ever you're tempted to do an upgrade to Vista, email me

I made a post somewhere back about how to do a clean install with
upgrade media - which according to MS must be done on top of an already
existing install.
For instance: clean install XP, then upgrade install Vista
It ain't so baby!

LOL. They might be. It depends on what they are selling. Let's see,
take something from long ago, put a new twist on it, claim that it is
ancient and new...
Perhaps, I was too harsh. No, no. I wasn't too harsh, I was wrong.
Really, I was. I misunderstood and reacted too quickly. I just didn't
connect the dots - probably the same dots in our bodies that are
aligned with the celestial meridians.
I'm sorry, that's a terrible way for me to admit I'm wrong. I am wrong
about meridian, but not charlatans.
There is another definition of meridian which refers to accupuncture
points used in traditional Chinese medicine. I learned that today.
