Ever notice...? |
Ever notice that most of the pop drugs have names that
could easily be the characters on a 1950s sci-fi movie?
I mean, can't you just see the members of the Venusian Planetary
Council having names like Plavix, Zocor, Vioxx, Zoloft, Cozaar,
Xenical, Valtrex, Zyban, Prozac....
There must be some hidden meaning here....

It's like the way they name cars so that there can be no negative
connotations. How many cars these days or for that matter consumer items
actually have real names that mean something!?

Yes, all too clearly......
------------
Act 1, Scene 2 - Venusian Planetary Council chamber, dusk.....
-----------
Counselor Zocor (as Counselor Plavix enters): Hail, Plavix!
Counselor Plavix: Hail Zocor! What news?
Counselor Zocor: The news is dire, my friend - Counselor Valtrex will
accuse Counselor Zyban with treason this very night!
Counselor Plavix: By the Luminary, Zocor! This cannot be true!
Counselor Zocor: We have lived to see dark days, Counselor Plavix -
Counselor Valtrex says he has proof that Counselor Zyban has been conspiring
with the Anti-Cholinergic faction to sabotage the Planetary Guard's Reuptake
Inhibitor!
(Music swells, as Counselor Plavix gasps).....

Stay tuned for Act 1, Scene 3, where Zoloft is revealed as the head of the
depraved Serotinergic Society, and Counselor Plavix confesses that his
family changed their name from Plotz when they emigrated to Venus from
Israel.....

Would a rose be any more lovely by any other name? Sometimes a word is
just a word... No hidden plots or special meanings...
Odds are they pay dummies (ALOT of money) to make up "hot&sexy" words
that will sell... it doesnt make the pill/drug any better, even if
that why they waste the time/energy/money on the silly names they make
up.

Plavix? Don't pick on Plavix. It's keeping my new stent from clogging up.
